Your printer monitors the life of your transfer belt. When the transfer belt reaches the end of its

life, the printer displays

80 Belt Exhausted. This message indicates it is time for you to

replace the transfer belt. For best print quality, make sure you replace the transfer belt when

the printer displays

80 Belt Life Warning.

Press

Go to clear the message. The Supplies message appears on the second line of the

display to remind you that supplies need attention. You can open the Supplies Menu to see

80 Belt Exhausted

or 80 Belt Life Warning messages.

The printer continues to display the

Supplies message until you replace the transfer belt. To

replace the transfer belt, use the following steps or the instruction sheet supplied with the
transfer belt.

If you take out the image unit and transfer belt at the back of the printer you can lift a cover. the laser unit is under it clean the glass. put all back and test.

Try doing a "stop test." Stop the print process at various stages, and see if which component creates the defect.
For instance, if a print takes 20 seconds, during the first 10 seconds, the drum is generating the image to transfer to the belt. If the image is bad on the drum, then that is your culprit. If not, then see which unit creates the problem.

Also, what color is the line?
After the unit gets to the transfer belt, you should check the transfer roller and fuser.

Download the user manual from the above mentioned link and follow the instructions and remove the top cover.

The transfer belt is a consumable that you must replace for another new.

3175fn is acolor printer. if you want to set only grey or black only print. you have to go to printers & fax. select the printer right click properties and go to color and set as gery or black only print.

Are you sure that you have transfer belt problems? First check the fixing section, esspecially the gears
