Re: G3 time issue
IF YOURE running tiger, go to the apple top left screen, drop down menu, choose SYSTEM PREFS....it should look like.....
3rd item on 4th row......you can select it manually or let it set by netowrk if you have access to the internet at the time.
Now if your date and time keep setting back when you restart your
computer, you may need to zap the PRAM (****-ram). Also if your battery
is not reliable or not keeping a proper charge, that will affect your
machines time and date.....try checking your battery's cycle.......

Usually the pin you pull out to set time also sets dates. See if the pin pulls out to 2 different lengths. Most of them you pull all the way out for setting time and 1/2 way out for date. Hope this helps.
Setting the Time Press and hold the HR or MN buttons for two seconds. Then press and hold HR until the correct hour appears on the display. AM or PM will appear for morning or evening hours. Press and hold MN until the correct minute appears on the display. The time may be set with the ignition on or off. The clock symbol will appear on the display in time-set mode.
To set the time; Press and hold the TIME button during the time setting procedure. While holding the time button press DAY to set the correct day and HR to set the correct hour (make sure the am/pm is correct) and then MIN to set the correct minutes. (If you hold down the Day/Hr/Min button for more than 2 seconds it will give a fast run-through)
I have the same clock. Here's what I did to re-set it after changing batteries: After replacing batteries, use the turn dial to set the correct time. Press the RED button 6 times, wait for it to go through that series of chimes, then press the button again to set the time. Example: Press RED button 6 times. Wait for it to chime. Press RED button the correct number of times for the hour to be set. For 5:00, press the button 5 times, etc. I lost the directions to my clock, and I am posting this from memory and also just had to re-set mine and it works OK now. Hope this helps!
