My TV

the old ticking sound... yes.. it means your power supply shut down and continously trys to reboot ... hense the tick sound as the voltage rises and fails.

Means you got a short somewhere. Most likely the obvious high power consuming High Voltage Suppy... and as I found in 99.9 percent the Horizontal power Transistor shorted... 80 percent Flyback, 10 percent audio... 10 percent some odd circuits like vertical or yoke as shorted.

you have a short.

Sonny tv problem

The problem with this model is the large parts due to poor wave soldering. Locate the transistor Q605. Using a small wattage soldering iron melt the solder and add a little solder to all the large parts in the area. Small wattage = 15 to 30 watt. Stay away from the surface mounts they are not the problem. I resoldered the following: D647
Q605 C690 D645 D620 R691 Q691
These parts are located on the main board, the one the power cord connects to. Carefully press the clip on the left side of the board (as you look at it from the rear of the tv) carefully pull the main board back and out of the rails. You will find the parts on the right side of the main board about 2 inches over 2 inches down.

TV went out

When you press POWER can you hear a click at all ? If not, it is likely some transistors in the relay circuit got damaged. Usually Q605 and Q691 short out. I fixed this same problem several times. Good luck.

TV sounds like power up for few seconds then goes off

You have a short somewhere causing the power supply not to start. Most likely a shorted horizontal output transistor and maybe a flyback transformer which caused the transistor to short. It would have to be checked out by a technician to find out exactly happened. Stargazer

Sanyo ce28wn5 tv (not c40n)

Get a professional technician to have a look. Could be anything from a cold solder in the Power Supply Circuits to a shorted Power Regulator STR or Hor. Output Transistor, shorted FBT, the list goes on.

Sanyo DS31520 went dead

If still under warranty or if you have no electronic repair experience you should take the set back to the shop or to a repair person. Some of the solutions described below can be dangerous, TV's are very hazardous to service. Even when plugged out, TV's can store very high voltages. Squealing noise is from the power supply teling you that there is an overload condiction. The overload is shifting the operational frequency of the power supply into upper audio hearing range. Check the diodes and caps in the supply circuit and the active components in the deflection circuit. also resolder the LOPT, h-output, h-driver, and h-driver transformer. Good luck
