POWERS DOWN AFTER 4 SEC

To restore your television you will need to replace the eeprom. Let me tell you why! The stereo decoder and signal processor at one time were confused with the microprocessor. This corrupted the eeprom. Without the following information, repair is next to impossible. Fortunately the repair is near..so pay attention! Location of the eeprom is IC002 on the TV board. You will need to know the numbers on the IC 001 (the microprocessor) and the numbers on IC1001 (stereo decoder). This will determine which correct eeprom to replace. The reason I say this, is there are six different eeproms to choose from. Show this info to a TV tech if you cannot do this yourself. Thanks for asking and show a few a few hands of support.

hold down setup button 2 sec press tv button once press power until tv turns off then press enter or tv if u dont have enter button

This is point to a fly back issue and a flyback fr this would run you $95 plus labor good luck with your TV

The tv is on Mono and wont budge there is a picture but not sound no remotes will work..wont even turn off by the base or remote its frozen. what do i do.. I dont even know how old it is..

Audio is linked to the HV side on most CRT chassis.(That means No HV present)... Could be Flyback transformer, H.O.T., Horizontal driver.. Too many things without seeing..

I wish I could help you but you will more than likely have to take your set to an authorized service center. Philips doesn't like to send service manuals to anyone except their service centers. Stargazer

Same problem. The power button does not work. The volume and channel buttons turn the tv on. the tv then shuts its self off 15 seconds later. the red light blinks in second intervals while this happens.
