Bose sa4 converting to analog input

I'm looking for advice as to the best Bose input for SACD (contains 5.1 information) captured to FLAC and played back by computer (Analog Line out currently but considering adding digital out): 1. Bose Aux in 2. Bose Digital in Regarding option 1. The Bose manual states the following which makes me think that Aux is the right decision: Setting up a digital sound source Connect a DTV or DVD player's digital signal directly to the female RCA jack on the audio input cable. Connect the DVD player's analog signal output to the AUX inputs. If your Lifestyle® system receives a valid digital signal (including PCM or Dolby Digital bitstreams), this digital sound is used. If no valid digital signal is received, then your system selects the analog signal being sent to AUX, which is then processed by the Videostage® decoder for excellent home theater sound. If your digital audio source has an optical connector, you will need an adapter with an RCA (coaxial) connector. Consult your dealer or contact Bose® Regarding option 2. I've read the following (not in Bose manual): A coaxial digital audio connection is used to send S/PDIF digital audio signals between devices. It supports uncompressed PCM stereo audio as well as DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1/7.1 surround sound signals. It does not support DVD-A, SACD or high-definition audio such as DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD. So in summary: The Aux in is analog but processed by the Videostage® decoder. The Digital in supports 5.1 and should be cleaner/quieter being digital I expect. I'd be interested in onions from other that know for sure what's better or have done this. thanks

I have computor running Win XP pro I am getting Spupdate is not responding when shuting down the computor. how do i fix this

Here is what it is, SPUpdate.exe is part of SPUpdate and developed by SoftThinks - Dell according to the SPUpdate.exe version information.
SPUpdate.exe's description is "SoftThinks Update Tool"
SPUpdate.exe is digitally signed by Dell Inc.
SPUpdate.exe is usually located in the 'c:\program files (x86)\dell datasafe local backup\components\DSUpdate\' folder. if you do not require the software , then i would recommend , uninstalling it , if it is indeed an error from a previous installation that you can no longer uninstall , try reinstalling the software and then uninstalling, after this use a registry cleaner to clean that up too, if you need further help or instructions dont heitate to ask

I have a Dell Inspiron 560. An ad keeps blinking

Hi,

Yes, this online back up ad can be annoying at the best of times.

The best thing to do is to completely uninstall Dell Datasafe from the computer.

Go to the control panel and look for programs and features (this is vista) uninstall a program in Windows 7.
There should be 3 datasafe programs for you to uninstall, once you have uninstalled all 3 programs restart your computer and the problem should be solved.

Regards.

It is possible. If you are able to logon to your computer, go to 'Add and Remove Programs' in Windows XP or 'Programs and Features' in Windows Vista and 7. Click on Dell Dock in the list, and click on Remove/Uninstall.
If you are not even able to logon to windows in the normal mode, try uninstalling the Dell Dock in safemode. If the uninstaller doesn't work in safemode, you can disable the Dock from the startup items in Safemode. To do this, type 'msconfig' in Run box in safemode, click on Startups tab and uncheck Dell Dock from the list. Restart your computer normally and try uninstalling the Dell Dock.

How do you uninstall and install a printer

Assuming Windows XP or Vista:

[Start]
[Printers and Faxes]
Right-click on the target printer and
select "Dell Uninstall" or "Dell software uninstall"
I recommend a re-boot before you "Add New Printer" in the same "Printers and Faxes" menu.

Note: You can also get to the "Printers" screen using:
[Start] [Control Panel] [Printers]

Normally to fix a printer that is printing gibberish, uninstalling and reinstalling the print drivers will fix this issue. Another thing that can contribute to gibberish print is using a USB cable that is too long.

With this particular problem (prints Zen), one solve is to uninstall any Dell toner management software. This is particularly true if you are running Vista and hooked up by USB. To uninstall the toner management software (Vista OS), go to control panel>programs>programs and feature>uninstall a program. From this list choose Dell software, choose a customized uninstall, and then choose anything that has to do with Dell toner management.

Won't uninstall

Download the "cleanup utility" from dell website and run it. It will remove all traces of dell printer software from the system. Once that is done you can reinstall it.
