Gear selector forks worn. not an easy fix im afraid

Year make and model helps. 4t45 and 65 transmission(GM) has this problem after many miles. It is the clutches. rebuild.

My 1995 nissan altima transmission is not changing from 2nd to 3rd gear

check the linkages from gear stick to gearbox may be loose.

It wont go in gear in drive.i have to manuly shift it. It will go in 2nd if u put it in 2nd but slips a little. Dont slip at all in1st or 3rd.wont shift down in drive acts like it is in nutrall.

When my 2001 GMC Yukon tries to shift into 3rd gear or overdrive - it is like it goes into nutral. It never shifts to 3rd. 1st and 2nd gears does just fine.

this sounds like the pressure valve is going bad on third gear. cheap fix try Lucus transmission additive to increase the pressure.
To do it right go to a good transmission shop an have it serviced and flushed.

95 buick lesabre slipping in 2nd or 3rd gear going up hills, fuel

If the tranny is slipping try some Lucas Tranny additive use a suction gun to take a quart of tranny fluid out then pour in a quart of Lucas it has save many cars for me and my family.

1998 Dodge Grand Caravan will not shif into 2nd

Most likely the second gear section of the transmission has gone bad. There are 3 or 4 different gear sections or assemblies in an automatic transmission, when they go bad, they go bad.
