Vertical lines through view finder and LCD JVC Digital Movie Came

The movie camera when turned on and trying to shoot has multi vertical colored lines through lcd viewer. I cannot take any movies or pictures.
The camera has been used about a total of one hour when it started doing this, the camera shop wants to charge me up to $150.00 to fix it, if they can. I am not high on the help that I received from JVC help line either (It is a joke) no help at all. It is probably a minor adjustment, I hope someone can help me.

Thanks

SOURCE: Image being displayed is all colored vertical lines

I had this problem a lot on Labtops. The problem is that it has been unliquifed in the screen. This means that the screen has been damaged or has got really hot. Also its has been on for along time. LCDs go bad real quick and can be a hassle when you need the infomation in the thing and have no display. When I had this problem on my labtop, I used the external bay to use another monitor so I can work on it. So I say that nothing can be done to fix it. The only way to see your stuff on there is to use the video out on the recorder and try to check your stuff. That multicolor lines you saw is becoming major right now in LCD displays. I hope this solves your problem.

SOURCE: Split screen and blurred vertical lines in view finder and LCD

Elakkis, I am sorry you are having a problem with your JVC camcorder. Your camera more than likely has a defective CCD imager which is being replaced by JVC factory service at no charge because of a problem with the Sony CCD chip being used. Call JVC and arrange to send the camera to them. Hope this helps you! Joe Weibel Custom Electronics (customelectronics.org)

How to enable and disable movie-record button?

To use the movie-record button, your camera must be in the live view mode.
When you are using the viewfinder (DSLR mode) you only can shoot stills. in live view, you can shoot movies with the little red Movie-record button and shoot stills with the shutter release button.

This camcorder hasn't been used for many years but when I switch it on although it has power to it, the view finder just has a vertical white line down it. It's the same whether it's on 'camera' or...

Does it work at all with out the view finder? If it does work completely then you can use the camera without the view finder. Point and shoot and the more you use it the better you get at it. Good Luck

Why are there vertical lines or bars on the monitor screen when I record a movie?

Recording a movie of a subject that is brightly lit by the sun or some other very bright light source can cause vertical lines or bars to appear in the image during playback. This is due to a CCD phenomenon called "smearing." Note that lines or bars appear in movie images only, but not in snapshots. Smearing does not indicate malfunction of the camera.
