Hi There,

This problem could be a faulty speed sensor . Especially with optical speed sensors. The other reason could be a faulty LCB ( MCB)

HI,
Your treadmill have problem with the motor control board. The motor control IGBT is faulty thats why its stars at high speed and shuts off immediately by sensing over current drain. The solution is replacing the motor control board or replacing the IGBT on the motor control board. To replace the IGBT you should have a through knowledge in electronics. If you need any more assistance feel free to contact me through FixYa.

hi,
You have to check the Driver circuit board for the motor. There is motor control IGBT Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) in this board .If the IGBT is short then the treadmill will try to run at high speed without setting any value or witout pressing the start button and will shut down . You have to check the OHMS between the seocnd and third of lead of the IGBT. If it shows less than 100 Ohms then the IGBT is short and you have to replace the same. Also you have to check the connection to the control pannel. Is there is any loose conatct. Remove the connection in the motor control board which go to the control pannel and reconnect it. Also check the speed sensor. In most of the treadmill you can find the speed sensor near the motor pully. Remove the speed sensor and clean it and the refix it. Remember one thing remove the power of the treadmill and leave it for 30 minutes then only oppen the treadmill. Because there is high voltage storage capacitors in the motor control board which will hold charge for some time even after the power is disconnected. i have added the picture of IGBT for your refference.

A treadmill will shut down from to much friction which is due to high motor current because the walkbelt and deck are not properly lubricated. I would recommend replacing the motor controller, walkbelt, deck and applying .5 oz of lubricant on the deck every 3-6 months or 100 hours of use. This will extend your treadmill's life many years.

It powers on at high speed and then immediately spots

Its sound like either a speed sensor not functioning may need adjusting or replacement refer to your owners manual on page 25 and 26 for this procedure. Now if you complete the adjustment and have the same problem, then you can test this sensor by using a multi meter on continuity setting follow the black connector to the lower board disconnect it and place leads on to connector MAKE SURE you have a good connection when testing. Then move the running belt and the front pulley which has a magnet, have the magnet move back and forth this will open and close the sensor circuit if good then it is the motor control board replace it, if not replace the sensor.

Motor immediately shuts-down upon start-up

check the brushes, if the machine turns on normal but the engine does not work can be a problem with the brushes, check the connections or wires that go to the motor drive card. Also check the speed sensor is often a magnet
