Keyboard is frozen

My keyboard suddenly stopped working. I can't type any letters of numbers. NO keys work, but the mouse and touchpad still work.

You can use a USB external keyboard for temporary; test and fix your operating system using Norton Utility (download and run it):

After finish (it needs some restart), please post the result (and the error message if any).

SOURCE: I have a Panasonic Toughbook CF-18. The keyboard

Connect an external keyboard to your laptop. If the external keyboard works properly that means the keyboard of your laptop is defective and you have to replace it. If you get the same problem with the external keyboard reinstall your operating system (it could be a virus).

Eee pc r101 keyboard not working properly. Some of the keys won't type the correct letters and type the function letter or symbol instead or just random numbers. Also the touch pad and mouse click is...

The keyboard takes a lot of abuse and as durable as it is, they will eventually wear out. It is a very inexpensive part to replace and does not require a lot of skill. The fact that the touch pad is acting up could indicate that they are interconnected. I would replace both. The Touch pad is a more involved part to replace and I would suggest you get some help or pay to have it replaced.

You can order them off of sites like eBay, then watch a YouTube video on how to do it.

I have an Acer Aspire 5517 and all of a sudden, the keyboard will stop working. The touch pad works fine but nothing on the keyboard (nothing! the letters, numbers, hotkeys) will work. Can anyone explain...

With an Acer, most likely the keyboard went out or the ribbon cable from the motherbaord came loose. The touchpad and keyboard are separate units so will work independent of each other. It's a simple replacement.

Keyboard & Mouse Problem

Seems like you Ctrl-key is pressed all the time somehow.
Make sure that none of the Ctrl-keys is stuck.
If you try another keyboard, everything should work fine, so just check your keyboard. Maybe you need to replace it.
