SOURCE: Parental Control Feature on the PS2

3 answers for the price of one. Start a DVD, bring up the menu with select, and then go to Setup. It's in there. To get it to actually save, eject and take out the DVD (kicking it back to the setup screen) before you turn the power off when you are watching any dvd, hit select on the controller to bring up the onscreen menu. on the menu, under the number 7, there is a icon called setup. click it. hit right on the digital pad (on the controller) two times and you will be at custom setup. now, go down to the parental controll part and set it up to your liking. While in the "custom settings/parental control" options press SELECT and enter the 4-digit number "7444" whenever the parental control display asks you for your password. the old password will then be deleted.

SOURCE: ps2 slimline parental control code

try this

  1. Bring up the screen where the unit asks you to enter in the parental code. You can either insert a restricted disc, or enter the DVD setup menu and go to "parental control" under custom setup.
  2. When the screen asks for the code, press the SELECT button, then enter in the code "7444".
  3. The level adjustment under Parental Control dictates the strictness of the player. The lower the value, the more strict it will be. Either increase the value to lower the restriction, or disable the lock entirely by setting it to "off".
  4. Once you have made your adjustments, be sure that the DVD tray is empty, and press the RESET button on the front of the Playstation 2. It is imperative the tray is clear of any DVD or game for the unit to save your settings

SOURCE: My PS2 controller port stopped working!

Sounds as if it has been dropped .....or an impact to the controller port while one was plugged in. in some cases the in side of the port can become full of dust and dirt causing light rusting creating a loss of connection ...but an impact can break a small chip on the back of the controller port inside the machine , try cleaning out the controller port and check to make sure the metal tabs are clean and un bent.

How to reset password on playstation 2

Hi Jessica

There are two methods to reset the Parental Control on a PlayStation 2, the Quick Method and the Easy Method.
The Quick Method to Reset Parental Control

  • Power on the PS2
  • Press the Reset button
  • Inset an R-rated and wait until the board comes up telling you that Parental Control is on
  • Hit the Select button
  • At the enter password prompt, hit the Select button
  • At the Delete password prompt, enter in your password
  • Hit the X button

If you do not know the Parental Control password on your Ps2, try the known defaults of 1111 and 7444.
The Easy Method to Reset Parental Control

Hope this helps :)

Parental control ps2

The Ps2's parental control is always on, but it depends what level it is set at. Here is a good tip....put a normal dvd in it and you should see a thing pop up and say that it needs to change your parental controls. then type in the password ex:0000 or whatever you put in or you can just do all 0's

Ps2 parental control

You may want to try "5432" when you have to enter the code (not to delete the code, but where it asks you to enter it when you insert a movie). My friend had the same problem, and that's the code we used (after an hour of entering random numbers) to get past the parental control lock.
