5210A camera not working

My Ltl acorn 5210A seems to work in test mode even though the pictures are much too bright but when I switch to on nothing happens

What kind of 'nothing' happens? The camera is designed to be stealthy, so don't expect noises or lights. Slide the switch all the way from TEST to OFF. Then slide it from OFF to ON and close the cover. At this point you should see a red LED flashing just 8 times (to tell you it's working) - then nothing.

Please check if yu did set the camera in AF mode continuous. In that mode, the camera is focusing on whatever is aimed at. Even when the shutter button is not pressed, allowing you to shoot without missing opportunities.
The mode where you see the camera focus when the button is pressed half way, is called single. This setting will conserve battery power.
Look in the manual under Switching between Focus Settings. I can't tell you war page that is for your camera, in mine it is page 100.
On the last pages in the book are all settings for each shooting mode.

My DSC-S750 is switching on and can see the old images on the LCD. The problem is cann't any new snaps because nothing on the LCD, made attempt even though lcd is black, still those images are blank...
A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, sometimes with lines, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open). To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.

Digital cameras have White Balance settings which make the image brighter or work with certain light conditions.

Try to look for it in your camera settings and just put it in AUTO mode then enjoy taking pictures again.

Pictures of the moon require a tripod. Night mode is a good starting place. After taking a test picture, if the moon seems too bright, you need to set the "exposure compensation" to the next lower number. Take another test photo and adjust as necessary one way or another. After you get a successful photo, you will need to crop it a lot to get the moon large enough.

Camera turns on fine. I could view picture and all. Just that when I switch to camera mode a video screen is blacked out. Why is that?
Your have a "Display" button that toggles thru different display modes .. one of the modes turns off the LCD backlight .. that useful if you are in bright light and dont need the backlight .. you have a very nice "transflective" display that works great in bright light without the backlight ... you can get more shots with the backlight turned off on each battery charge .(about 25% more) .

so each time you operate the display mode button you will get a different display .. one shows a hystogram .. one turns off the backlight and one puts the camera in a normal mode ..

if everything is working right then even with the backlight turned off you should be able to go outside or any brightly lighted area and see the picture on the screen ..

1. Mode Dial not working, "Take-Picture-Button" not working.
If the camera was dropped, then it's really causing those kinds of issues like mode dial and shutter button will not work.

But you could still try these steps below:

First, do the POWER RESET:
- Turn off camera
- Remove batteries for a minute
- Reload batteries
- Turn on camera

Second, do the MASTER RESET
- Press on MENU button
- Press on the right button until you see SETUP 2
- Scroll down until you see RESET
- Press the right button to pick up on YES or NO
- Press on OK/MENU button for changes to be saved - Turn off camera for a few seconds so that settings will be refreshed

Third, if it still does the same thing, then your camera needs to be repaired by a technician.

Sony CCD-V8AF-E Video Camera Good Afternoon, I have a very old CCD-V8AF-E camera and a number of tapes with family movies recorded on them. I want to copy the movies onto a more permanent medium on my computer and to DVD's. The camera has not been used for many years and now when I tried to do the copying, I discovered that the cassette holder will not open when the eject button is pushed. The light above the eject button comes on solid yellow in colour and after a few seconds begins blinking and the cassette holder does not open. There is no tape currently in the camera. I would appreciate it if there is anyone who can give me any ideas on how I can get the cassette holder open. Thanks in advance David Rae.
