I will let dirty clothes build up in washer for a day or two and when I go to wash them, clothes are standing in water or I will open the door when empty and there is standing water.

same problem. water fills tub with water at random times, leaks onto floor and ruins cealing below, door was left open.

Exact same problem - except it is sporatic. For a while, it was filling rapidly every day. I then went several weeks with no water running in at all. For the last week, it has filled in between every use.

The tub fills with water overnight when not in use about an inch past the lower edge of the tub. Now the water smells moldy and makes the cloths smell moldy. I am guessing that the automatic shut off valve is passing or something, however, I have not investigated the problem fully yet. Any suggestions?

MY machine was just serviced. Unfortunately, I live two miles down a dirt road, live off the grid and I'm pretty certain that service guy won't be coming back out again.

When not in use, it fills with water to the halfway mark. I saw the light on and an error code and since we live in a solar powered house and don't want anything to draw power at night, I just unplugged it. The next morning, went outside and accidently opened the door. Water gushed out onto the floor. Fortunately it is a cement floor with a drain in it or everything would have been ruined.

I have unplugged the machine and turned off the water. I can't unlock the door (get door UL error)

I will need to repair this myself. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have heard some people talk about clearing the drain pump. Where is that located and what does it look like. I'm going to go out and try to take the top off of the machine and see if I can figure anything out.

If nothing else, please let me know where I can get a repair manual for it.

    Thank you

I had the problem of my HE3 washer would not drain all the way. Well I am pretty good at fixing stuff so I took apart the botton panel and there was the drain. I opened up the drain plug with a small bucket (gallon size) underneath and it started to drain and drain. Well about 3 gallons and five big beach towels on the floor i thought I fixed it. I found a service award badge and a couple of small socks. So I put everything back together and started to run a cycle. After the cycle finished my daughter decided to open the door and realized it was full again. After we got out the shop vac and sveral more beach towels. I go back to the drain plug and started to noticed the the drain area is clear. So I thought it was a fluke. Unpluged the washer for a few minutes and started another cycle. Once I realized the washer did not drain again, I was starting to get mad. I took the bottom panel off again and looked under the drum and realized I might new a new pump. Well I called my dad to run the issuse by him to see what he thought. About that time my son opened the washer no realizing I was working on it. I am really mad now. My dad stops by and helps clean up the water. He looks at the drum and realizes the rubber drain piece that comes off the drum twists when it is on the drain mode. So I pull the spring clamp off and put a stainless steel hose clamp (.89 cents) and lined up the black rubber drain piece the way it is suppose to on. It has been working great every since. Sometimes you need about 6 gallons of water to realize that it is always the simplest thing that stump you.

The water inlet valve/solenoid on the machine may be faulty and letting water pass through even when it is supposed to be shut. Try turning the water off to the machine every time after you use it and if water stops going in while its off, replace the inlet valve/solenoid.

Why does my Kenmore Elite HE3 fill with water when it's off

The water valves are leaking usually from grit in the seat of the valve. They are a pair and can be easily replaced.

Kenmore Elite HE3 washer

set the washer to fill. open the lid and depress the lid switch. might be in the rear of the cover or on the side. watch to see where the water level comes to. once the tub is filled, the water height switch operates the timer motor for the different cycles.

My Kenmore Elite He3 sounds like it has water in the tub after washing AND smells of MOLD?

there is always some water left inside the machine and that is probably what you are hearing are you using liquid detergent? if so this is almost certainly the cause of the smell. liquid detergent leaves a nasty slime inside thge machine and smells like drains. put on a boil wash with no clothes and revert to using powder detergent
