SOURCE: Toshiba Satellite A105 PC Notebook, DVD/CD Drive.

You can't just change it from pio to udma. Go to Control Panel, System,Hardware,Device Manager, then expand IDE ATA/ATAPI, then right click on Primary IDE and select uninstall. Do the same for secondary IDE. Then just reboot your system, and it will autodetect all IDE devices. After that when you check, you should not have any devices in PIO, and your burner should work correctly. If not, stick it in a hyperbaric chamber for 2 days and see if that helps. smile.gif __________________

I have a Toshiba Satellite M35X-S161 that will not stay turned on for longer than 15 minutes.

Check power management - clean dust from fan - full system virus/spyware/registry scan. Place external fan to help internal fan.
