I HAVE GOT BLACK MARKS ON THE TOP LEFT HAND CORNER OF MY PHILLIPS LCD TV, THEY ARE VERY PROMINENT WHEN THE BACKGROUND IS WHITE. THE BEST WAY TO DESCRIBE THEM THEY LOOK LIKE DARK CLOUDS AND HAVE APPEARED WITHIN THE LAST WEEK.THE TV IS AROUND 20 MONTHS OLD.
I HAVE TRIED TO RE SCAN THE TUNER BUT TO NO AVAIL.
CAN ANYONE HELP ME AS THE ONLY THING I KNOW ABOUT TV'S IS HOW TO CHANGE CHANNELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Canadian company Tim Horton's uses SHARP 37" LCDs in the stores for advertisements. Alot of them have what look like marks from improper cleaning or almost cloud like stains on the sides of the screens.
On the Sharp screens this is panel separation and is a sign that it is time to replace the screen. This should be covered if the screen is still under warranty.

This problem was probably there before, but you only noticed with the new "Brighter" bulb.
This TV will require replacement of the LCD Prism unit.
This Prism blocks and allows colors so that the 3 LCD images may be mixed to produce the final image you see on the screen. When this becomes damaged or defective, it leaks colors (light). This Color Leakage apears as spots on the screens.
Where you see the spots is where the specific spot on the prism that is leaking light, the specific color that is leaking also.
This parts cost alone is normally $500 to $1000 dollars but is usually replaced under warranty. If out of warranty, I suggest living with it or selling it if out of warranty.
Turn down the Brightness and it will not be as noticeable. I am sure you only see this with bright images.....like white backgrounds and such
This is a fault i have seen with phillips lcd tv's and i suspect it could be the lcd screen itself, the ribbon cables from the screen are heat contacted on to a circuit board and there could be anything from 10 to 15 of these ribon cables and over a period of time the heat generated from the internal panels will deteriorate the plastic ribbon cables.
Try twisting the screen gently by placing your left hand on the top left hand corner and your right hand on the top right hand corner and gently twisting,if the lines go and then come back after you let go then a new screen will be required but it may be cheaper to buy a new one, could be worth buying the extended warrenty.
