Question about Bosch Nexxt 500 WFMC3301 Front Load Washer

Open Question

Code d:08 bosch nexxt series 500

Spin cycle won't run. I removed the motor to see if I could changes the brushes- but this model does not have removal brushes. I re-installed the motor and tried the spin cycle and it worked like a charm! so I attached the back cover, slid the washer back into place and tried a "quick wash cycle" with 2 towels and the next thing I know water is all over the floor! I had orginally checked the drain for cloggs and must have not closed the cap tight enough. Either way, the spin cycle still would not run. Any suggestions? I am going to revisit the drainage to see if something is potentially blocking the drain ( I cleared out 2 hairpins with my initial examination)

SOURCE: Bosch Nexxt Premium Washing Machine Drainage Blocked. Cleaned out impeller still not working.

You need to check the drain pump externally to see if the pumping is good Also remove the drain hose clamps and remove the drain hose flushing to clear off all dirt. Now test using power to see if this works and can be simulated. When refitting, the hose must be tightened properly. If the pump/valve does not work even with power then it must be replaced. If there is intermittent power to the drain valve/pump then the program controller unit is a suspect.

Finally the washer must be placed with a tilt- use a spirit level- so that all water will drain to the outlet port and thereby there is no residual water remaining.

My Bosch Nexxt 300 series won't spin

Possible that there is no output to the motor from the control panel in which case the control panel is faulty or if you can check the voltage on the motor at the time of program start , then it can be confirmed on the motor failure, motor capacitor failure. Also check the spindle for free run in which case it which case it can be jammed.

Nexxt 500. Not getting final spin. Washer seems to go thru all other steps, but the final spin either doesn't happen.....it we have to start it again. Lately even launch of "spin"...

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

This sounds very much like the motor is failing- often shown during the spin phases and OK on the normal wash phases.
Motors- and belts, which is sensible to change at the same time- are easy to be changed by a competent person:-
REMOVE POWER FROM THE MACHINE AND REMOVE THE BACK.
The motor support bolts, normally 2, should be loosened and the belt removed then remove the bolts completely
With the motor it is false economy to just have the brushes changed. Experience of others is that the brushes may only last months unless, that is, the motor is totally refurbished. Refurbishing includes skimming the commutator on which the brushes run. Without skimming the brushes do not sit firmly on the commutator but straddle it- the centre is often more worn than the outer part.
Unfortunately motors are not cheap- the motor for our 18+ yearold Bosch cost GBP250 but it will probably outlive us!
Often putting the new belt on is a bit of a struggle, even with the motor 'loose', because it is new and smaller!
Once on it should be tensioned by pulling the motor against the belt firmly- but not over tight- and the motor support bolts tightened.
ON NO ACCOUNT SHOULD ANY FORM OF LEVERAGE BE USED TO TENSION THE BELT. THAT COULD LEAD TO DAMAGE TO THE BELT, MOTOR AND BEARINGS- EXPENSIVE!

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck,
John C
