Its way too quite.

Ok I've had this problem since day 1 and have pretty much given up on any hope for this mic, I bought this mic so i could have better quality audio when I record my gaming videos and yet every time I try to record or use it on my chat programs the **** thing is so quite that to get any sound to be picked up it has to pretty much be in my mouth. Now to give an idea of the situation I'm using a PC first off and its a desktop not a laptop like a lot of the other problems I've seen here about this mic and second I don't have a bunch of audio equipment or any other kind of recording studio gear just me, my computer and the mic. I've tried plugging it into my guitar amp but it pretty much did nothing at all so ya if there is a free software I can download to increase the volume of the mic that'd be great but I will also be using this while in chat programs such as Skype, Ventrilo or Mumble so of course it has to produce the same level of volume in all of these things. At the moment I am forced to use the mic from my Turtle Beach x11 Earforce headset which is not the best quality but it's not bad and picks up everything I say from about 10ft away. So if anyone can give me an answer that helps with this that isn't blatantly obvious like going into the recording devices section of my computer and changing things there because I've done that already (enhancements available DC offset cancellation/ Advanced set to 3 channel, 16 bit, 192000 Hz).

SOURCE: whistling background noise with Samson C01U USB condenser mic

Welcome to the world of STUDIO microphones. Super quality BUT you must have a studio to use them. You can't have any local speaker playing into them. You often use headphones lest your monitor speakers will feedback. At the high frequency capability of these mics, you can fry your amps with oscillations above what you can hear!

I just bought a Behringer K3000FX amp and it sounds GREAT with my keyboard. However, just bought a Shure SM48S voice mic and it just doesn't come thru the amp with much volumn...have to turn amp

Greetings! Ok, your amp has an XLR (3-prong) Low-Impedance input on Channel 1 for a Mic. All the other inputs are 1/4" High Impedance inputs, which are for instruments and/or other High Impedance items including low quality High Impedance Microphones. The SM48S is a high quality Low Impedance microphone, so if you use it with a 1/4" plug, it will be in a High Impedance channel, and will be very LOW in volume in comparison with everything else. So, you must use an XLR (3 prong) cable from the Mic to the Channel 1 input on your amp. That will do the trick. Good Luck with your new amp and Mic!

Driver for genius videocam HS-02N?>

Drivers for headset is quite standard for every Windows, you have to check did you choose right enter for your Mic. usually it's red color. If you hear sound well on your headset, then Mic must work well too. I've got on my computer enters for sound and for mic on the front panel and on the back. Sound goes well from front, but Mic doesn't at all. From back panel all - sound and Mic - go well

Can you get an adapter to run 5 microphones. Channel 5 does not have a mic jack. Is there an adapter to plug to a mic that will connect with this channel?

What I think you are looking for is an XLR to 1/4" adapter. This will let you plug a standard mic cable into a line in or 1/4" channel. You can find them online pretty easliy if you search xlr to 1/4 adapter.

Hope this helps!

Hello, i've just bought a sure sm58 mic so i thought i would get a good cable to go with it, i purchased a (Planet Waves 10 feet Custom Series 1/4 inch XLR Balanced Microphone Cable) but when connected...

Where do you connect the 1/4 inch connector? At the same device (karaoke)?
Also check and report if the 1/4 inch connector is "mono" or "stereo"

Waiting clarification, don't hesitate to post.

Thanks and regards

When speaking through Skype, I hear my friends perfectly clear, but when listen to me speaking, they say I "lag" so it's very hard to understand what I'm saying. I have tried the following to fix...

Hi kasper,

I see that you are having issues with the system regarding the mic, you can hear your friends quite fine but when you start to speak they hear you but it lags or is choppy is that correct?

I saw on your notes that you've already done basically everything on the system untill reinstalling windows have you tried a diffent MIC to use and see the difference.

I hope that this helps.

Have a nice day,

The mic and 1/4 inputs are not working properly. everytime i plug in my bass or mic i'm getting static

You have a bad A/D converter. Maybe it can be replaced, but these units are pretty cheap, and may exceed the time to research and repair. Digidesign was bought out by Avid, and they may not support the unit if you're not the original buyer.

When i answer the phone i can hear the other person talking but they can't hear me

Your mic might need to be replaced. Try CPR in NYC. They usually have a 1-3 day turnaround time, and are pretty cost effective. You can easily ship them your unit.

Hope it helps!
