Make sure the songs are in the right format, and check Sandisk's website for Vista drivers

How to download music to my sandisk sansa m230?

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. Music files need to be converted to mp3 file format before copying to the MP3 player. Please click on this link and follow my instruction to convert music files :-

Will my mp3 player (sandisk sansa m230) charge

Assuming the computer puts out enough juice, yes. Not all USB ports do.

Plug it in, and the Sansa should say "Charging" if it is charging. If it doesn't, try a different USB port if possible. If your computer has ports on the front/side and on the back, the back ones are more likely to put out sufficient power.

Sansa m230 not syncing music files or downloading them. Process leaves the Sansa m230 with 0 files and i am finding it impossible to load new file(s) ?

Try reflashing the firmware for your device you can find the latest firmware and flashing utilities from the manufacturer?s website. Make sure that you back your music up first because when you do this you are setting it back to factory settings. Then add music this way and see if it is works: 1. Free a USB port on your desktop computer. Now, grab the USB cable for your SanDisk Sansa MP3 player and connect the player to your computer. 2. Wait for your computer to find and recognize the player. This may take a few moments. Once you receive a confirmation message, open your computer and scan the icons for the SanDisk MP3 player. 3. Open the SanDisk Sansa MP3 player on your computer. The music files that you currently have saved to the player?s memory are displayed. 4. Open a folder containing music files that is stored in your desktop computer?s memory. Scan the files for songs that you want to transfer to the SanDisk Sansa MP3 player. 5. Left-click on a song file and drag to the SanDisk Sansa window. Drop the file and let your computer complete the transfer. The transferred file appears at the bottom of your music list. 6. Unplug your SanDisk Sansa player from your computer. Turn the player on and allow the file transfer to update to the internal memory of the MP3 player.

Downloading files from mp3 players

If the files are not on the PC, Windows Media Player will not see them. You can manually manage the music from My Computer. Double-click on the device name Sansa m230 and you can see the files and folder. You can just drag and drop these onto your computer to save them. You might also want to format the device to remove everything and give you a clean slate. Right Click on Sansa m230 and select format. Best of Luck.
