Humming noise answering machine messages have a horrible humming sound

  • Marlinjr Nov 26, 2007

I have a Southwestern Bell Corded Freedom Phone FM2560S.

When I receive a call or make a call there is an annoying background hum. I tried using the phone in other parts of the house with other wall cords but the hum persists. My 2 other phones do not have this problem. I noticed that after I disconnected the phone for several days the hum left when reconnected, but was back again in the next couple days.

    Thanks,

    Marlin

Humming, static noise when answering message is playing, RCA 25425

First thoughts are is the device near to a wall socket power supply?
Non "Switch mode" power supplies use transformers and these give off a radiated 50/60Hz hum which can be picked up by devices with amplifiers such as answering machines and phones etc. Try moving the answering machine to a new location where there are no power supplies nearby and see if that makes a difference? If it does you have a couple of choices, leave the machine where it is or move the power supply to another wall socket further from the answering machine.

Singer Touch-tronic 2000 makes loud humming/buzzing noise, stitch selector lights quit working, needle bar stopped moving.

Sounds like you've got a thread jam going on in the bobbin case area. Good cleaning and a new needle will probably fix it. See: https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20091202121550AAHxN8y

Washer did not spin out message E20 appeared on panel. Attempts to start just humming noise.

is the humming comming from the motror trying to run or is it just a humming sound if the machine has washed correctly upto that point then check water pump for faults and or blockage machine will not advance if water trapped in machine the humming sound could be the water pump either free spinning indicating a blockage or humming as it is trying to run indicating a faulty pump

NEVER OPEN MACHINE CASE WHILST STILL CONNECTED TO MAIN POWER SUPPLY

My dvd player is making a loud humming sound when i load up a dvd. it is the phillips dvp5960

Does the DVD player still work, even though it's making the humming noise?
The humming noise may just be normal for that machine. Turn your TV up louder .
If the player doesn't work, the drive is broken, and you would have to send it to Phillips if your warranty is still working. If the Player still works, check to see if the disc is warped or cracked, this'll make the drive unstable, and make the noise.

Hope my answer helped :)

Brand New and already broken

There is a short on one of the boards. The power supply may have also been damaged. You should take the set back to the dealer for an exchange.

I would sugget to buy a quality brand name if you want high reliability.
