Check for power with a test light with the light connected. If you have power then its the ground. If no power then you will need to trace the wire back to find break. As I recall they did have seperate fuse for left and right headlight high & low beam. Also did you get a defective new bulb?
check for a damaged wire for the low beam. Also wouldn't hurt to check the ground wire as the high beam will try and ground through the low beam but not visa verse
You need to change the head light bulbs, they have two elements one for normal lighting and one for high beams, the low beam elements on those light bulbs are burnt, install new ones and you'll fine.
Good Luck
the filament on the low beam burnt out. but the high beam didn't. You have a filament for each. 1 for high beam and 1 for low beam in the same light bulb. You need a new head light.
had the same problem on my 92....check under the hood on the drivers side, towards the front, there is a "junction box" with all of the lighting wires connecting from the switches to the lights. My wires were all corroded inside,so I cleaned the ends and bought a new box from the local electronic supply store. The problem has not come back.
Check for headlight relay and fuse. Some cars have separate circuits for head light flasher and normal high/low beam. From your description, I would suspect a bad connection to/from relay or relay itself.
You headlight lamp have a diffuser mechanism which allows it to flip between the hight beam and low beam feature of the bulb. In fact, you high beam will function even if the low beam is not working.
I would recommend the purchase of the new headlight lamp. It would cost you you any where from $15.00 per unit to get a replacement lamp
