I could copy the pages, from the manual, but why should I do that? you better read what is in the manual, direct. I could make an error while typing it from the manual.

How do you reprogram a new key for a 2000 Buick park avenue?

Transmitter Programming
Important: All transmitters which are to be recognized by the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) must be programmed in a single programming sequence. If the system is placed in program mode, all previously programmed transmitters will be erased upon the receipt of the programming signal from the first transmitter. Up to four transmitters may be programmed. Do not operate or program the transmitters in the vicinity of other vehicles that are in the keyless entry program mode. This prevents the programming of the transmitters to the incorrect vehicle. The order in which the transmitters are programmed is important. The first transmitter programmed will be transmitter #1, and the second transmitter programmed will be transmitter #2. The number on the transmitters are for reference only: #2 can be programmed as #1, or vice versa. Additional unnumbered transmitters are also available. Use care to program the transmitters correctly.
  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Use the scan tool Remote Function Actuation Special Function: Program Key Fobs in order to place the remote control door lock receiver into Program Mode. The doors will lock and then unlock in order to confirm program mode.
  4. Important: The scan tool must stay connected until all of the transmitters are programmed.
  5. Press and hold the LOCK button and the UNLOCK button simultaneously on one transmitter. After a delay of 15 seconds, the doors will lock and unlock in order to confirm the programming of that transmitter.
  6. Repeat the previous step in order to program up to 4 transmitters.
  7. Remove the scan tool.
  8. Operate the transmitter functions in order to verify correct system operation.

I have the timer programmed but what mode should it be in Off, Auto or Random? I had it in Auto but the timer did not start at 10 am as programmed! Help!

HB88RC is discontinued timer, replaced by 2-outlet HB800RCL or 1-outlet HB800RCH.
Timer functions should work in AUTO.
Try resetting timer by removing AA battery, reinstall fresh battery, and then reprogram timer.
When programming is finished, press clock button and timer should be in AUTO mode and current time displayed.
If you want to change mode, then press mode button. When exiting mode, press clock button and timer should be back in AUTO mode.
If functionality does not restore, then timer has gone bad.

I have set program 1 on and off times and program 2 on and off times but do not know what mode to choose to get it to work!!

People are writing in with problems about HB88RC.
Problems seem to revolve around MODE button and setting automatic for timer to operate programming.

One guy said his timer skipped over automatic.
Another fellow today reported that timer programs would not work.

So maybe your timer has similar problem.
I'm going to e-mail Intermatic with recent information.
I need clarification on your exact question.
Intermatic generally e-mails back and is concerned with their products and customers.

That being said, let's look at your timer problem.
When you finish programming 1 and 2, press Clock button to exit programming and current time shows on display.
At this point, timer should function.

According to manual:
If you press MODE button once, timer will enter override, and lights will turn on.
Press MODE button again, RDM shows on screen and timer enters random mode and lights turn on-off randomly so it looks like folks are home.
Press MODE again and timer returns to Automatic and programs 1 and 2 should run.

Add a comment and let me know what is happening so I can report to Intermatic.
I will post results on this thread.

a. Pressing button #1 on the keychain transmitter.
b. Pressing button #2 on the keychain transmitter.

In other words, press 1 time to access the lock function, 2 times to access the unlock function, 3 times to access the start function. When programming is complete, simply turn off the ignition switch to exit the program mode.

ERASING TRANSMITTERS IF THEY HAVE BEEN LOST OR STOLEN: NOTE: Before you begin to erase the lost or stolen transmitter(s), have all transmitters available that you wish to remain programmed. These will be used during the program process to identify transmitters that will continue to be used.

To be certain all transmitter slots in the receiver are occupied with transmitters you wish to continue to use, and all others are erased, you will have to fill all four receiver slots. If in step 3 you identified one transmitter, you will have to fill the additional 3 slots. If in step 3 you identified two transmitters, you will have to fill the additional two slots, etc...
4. Press and hold any unused button or combination of buttons until a long chirp is heard from the siren. Release and press the button or button combination again and again until all remaining slots are full.
