Evo D510S Possible Power Issues

I have an Evo D510S that won't boot all the way. How can I test the power supply on these 14 pin units?

The fan turned on momentarily then went down. I replaced the motherboard, as it was cheaper than a power supply & it works now. Thanks for your input.

First turn on your pc. Is the 2 led indicator blink? If is not it might be your power supply. B4 that try to change the power cable if its ok or not. My psu got fix with elec.technician, Ive got a fuse blown rated with 5A 250v(size like a miniature mic), and change the 3 resistor coded with green, brown, silver, silver...This kind of psu is not available in my country..Here in the Philippines! It works now..

If it turns the fan, it works, if not its the motherboard, you can find them on ebay

P8P67 EVO Won't Boot with power to board

This is almost always the power supply. How exactly did you "check the power supply"? You checked all 12 or so voltage outs under load?

If replacing the power supply doesn't work, replace the motherboard.

My PC power supply crashed, burnt resistors, Powerman IW-P250A3-1 20 pin plug to motherboard, bought new power source, but the old power source had a white cable to the 20 pin plug which was -5vdc 0.3amp....

For your system to boot up properly, you need an identical power supply for your system. Most likely the reason why your system won't boot up right now is because you purchased a different power supply and it is lacking something(which is the other pin).

I have an Antec Truepower 2.0 TPII-430. This power supply provides power to the fans but when I push the computer power-up button, nothing happens. I installed another similar power supply and everything...

Test it. Unplug the molex connector from the mothrboard. You can use a wire or a paper clip to test it to power on. You will connect (short) pin 14 to and ground pin. (diagram here) For example, put one end of the paper clip into pin 14, and the other end into 13, 15, or 16. If the power supply turns on and fan running then maybe a problem with the front panel switch on the computer case.
P.S. make sure you unplug all other leads to drives before doing this.

Have hp compaq d530 problems turning on. Wont boot, showing 1 green flash when power button is depressed & thats it!,,,,, ASSISTANCE!!!!!!! [email protected]

That is most likely a bad power supply but it could also be a bad mainboard. You can find replacement power supplies for under $50 so try that first.

Computer will not turn on. Possible power surge.

If the power supply is good then your motherboard must have gone bad during a surge.

do this test this will tell you if your power supply is good or bad we will do the process of elimination ok.
How do I test if the power supply is bad?
Warning This test is for those with extensive electronics training. Do not try this if you do not have extensive electronics training. Make sure there is enough load connected to the power supply before testing ( at least motherboard and one hard drive)!
ATX power connector layout isshown above. 5VSB constantly provides 5V power to the connector through pin 9. If you have a voltmeter, while the power supply fan does not turn on, you could identify which pin is pin 9. Normally there is a clip on the connector between pin 15 and 16. If one can identify pin 14 (the only green wire goes to pin 14), this is the power-on pin. Onee can use a piece of wire to short pin 14 and 15 (or any other black wired ground pin). If you power supply has power connected to it and power switch on the power supply is on, the fan should be turning by now. Otherwise, your power supply may have problem.
