Sync all the songs you want onto the raga via 'songbird'.
Stay connected, then go to windows explorer, identify your device. Then in 'Music', make folders for your playlists. Manually transfer (drop and drag) your songs to the required folder/playlist.
When using the raga use the 'folder' option. Works as playlists.

Playlists to sync on the player can be set in Windows Media Player.
When selecting the Library or Sync tab in WMP full view, the GoGear is visible on the left side in the list.
The player can be either connected seeing the player's icon or not connected seeing the player's map name.
Right click the GoGear Mix and select Setup Sync...
The box, Sync this device automatically probably is selected. Prevent the player from unattended synchronizing by unchecking this box: Especially when you're removing lists on the computer frequently.
Setup the the playlists to sync first and synchronize manually after that. Temporary "Sync this device automatically'' must be selected, to be able to edit the playlists to synchronize.
On the right half of the Device Setup screen there''s the "Playlists to sync''. Under playlists to synchronize, first remove all playlists or those you are going to delete in the library, before synchronizing.
When needing more information, just post a comment.
If you want to make a new playlist for your 8 gig GoGear Aria, all you have to do is highlight the songs you want to add, then right click the mouse and choose create playlist. Name the new playlist then cut and paste it into "Playlist" in the music choices and there you go. No WMP needed.
if it has too many songs on it try deleting some of the songs off the player, and if thats not the case, stop using it for a few days then try to turn it on again
To download music or photos on to your Philips GoGear, you need to use a computer that has Windows Media Player and Device Manager already installed. Once these are installed, the steps to sync your Philips GoGear Jukebox using Windows Media Player are fairly easy to follow. Follow these steps to sync your Philips GoGear.
Connect your Philips GoGear to the computer with the USB cable. The USB connector on the GoGear is on the top, and will be on the front or back of your computer. You will see a USB connection icon as soon as the GoGear is connected to the computer.
1.Start Windows Media Player from the Start Menu or from the desktop. To transfer files to your GoGear from your computer, click Copy to CD or Device (with WMP 9) or the Sync tab (with WMP 10).
2.Find the Items to Copy pane. In the drop-down list, click the category or playlist that you want to copy to your GoGear. Make sure that items that you do not want to copy are unchecked.
3.Locate the Items on Device pane. In the drop-down list, click GoGear. When you have selected the items that you want to sync, click the Copy (with WMP 9) or Start Sync (with WMP 10) button.
·Open up Windows Media Player(WMP) on your
computer. To add a track to a playlist on your computer using WMP, click to
highlight an item. ·Right-click on the
item that you want to add, then select Add to Playlist. A pop-up window will
appear. Select an existing playlist or add a new one. Your selection is now
added to your playlist. ·Delete a track. When
you do not want a track on your playlists anymore, you are able to delete it.
To delete tracks and playlists, click to highlight an item. Right-click the
item and select Delete from Library to delete it. ·To Edit track
information, click on a track. Right-click and select Edit. Click on the text
boxes to edit relevant information. ·Once all changes have
been made, connect your GoGear to your computer with your USB cable and
download the new playlists.
Have solved this problem on GoGear syncing with WMP 11 by going to options on the device itself, then go to the "settings" option, scroll down to "PC Connection Preferences", from here you will select the check box saying "MTP" then back out of options and connect your device and go back to your WMP 11 and drag your playlists to the syncing area and resync your device. You should then be able to see your playlists under the playlist option in music along with the "playlist on the go" playlist.
According to the manual for most GoGear's, you have to have automatic synchronization enabled in Windows Media Player for the playlists to transfer correctly.I still have not been able to verify if this is true, since I have been able to transfer playlists fine with and without auto-sync engaged.
I haven't tried a 3115 specifically, but with an SA4111 and an SA5125, I just created the playlist in Windows Media Player 11, right clicked on the playlist name after it was created, selected "Add to Sync List," and then "Start Sync" with GoGear connected. I used this method, because it seemed more likely to add the songs AS A PLAYLIST rather than just dragging and dropping the tracks WITHIN the playlist.
As I look more closely at the documentation for the SA3115, however, it does not have the same playlists options as other GoGear's - it seems to limit you to Playlist-on-the-Go. I know that the GoGear will not recognize folders that you create in Windows Explorer, so that option is out. You can connect the GoGear, and see if a Playlists folder appears in the left-hand pane underneath the icon of the GoGear in the Sync tab. My gut feeling, however, is that this player is just not as equipped as other GoGear models for playlist transfer. I'll go back to the lab on tuesday and see if I can find anything new.
You probably have your Windows Media Player set up for AUTOMATIC instead of MANUAL synchronization.
When this option is selected,Windows Media Player will add EVERY song, picture, etc from your Library on your computer to the GoGear. Now, every time you sync you device, it adds every new file from your computer into the GoGear automatically. Here's what you want to do (this process assumes you have Windows Media Player 11 and windows XP - if you have another version, just let me know and I will give you modified instructions - reply to the FixYa website, not to my personal e-mail address): 1) Backup all files stored on your GoGear, as this process will delete all files from your GoGear 2) Go into Windows Media Player 11 with your GoGear connected to the computer (it will automatically sync and add new files one last time), move the mouse cursor over to the sync tab; a small black arrow will appear under the word "Sync"; click on the small black arrow and a dropdown menu will appear; select "Portable media device" from the dropdown menu, and another dropdown menu will appear; select "Set Up sync"; a window will appear with some information on your device - uncheck the box that says "Sync this device automatically"; click Finish; This will eliminate the problem of Windows always adding songs/files you don't want into your player.
As for some files not being viewable, try simply disconnecting the GoGear from the computer and resyncing with Windows Media Player. sometimes files will be displayed multiple times, and a simple resyncing will cure the problem. Otherwise: You must use Windows Media Player to delete songs from the GoGear. With your GoGear connected to the PC, you want to highlight (single left click) the icon of the GoGear (or line that says Philips GoGear blah blah blah) on the left hand side of Windows Media Player 11 - this will ensure that you are deleting files from the GoGear itself, and not the computer. Once the GoGear line is highlighted, click on the "Songs" or "Album" folder underneath the GoGear line (NOT the "Songs" or "Album" folder underneath the "Library"). This will bring up a list of songs stored on the GoGear into the middle pane of Windows Media Player 11. Highlight (single left click) a song you want to delete and press the delete button on your computer's keyboard. windows USUALLY gives you a prompt asking if you really want to delete the files/they will be permanently removed from your (GoGear) device. Congratulations, you have just deleted songs from your GoGear! :-) -Tha Mp3 Doctor
