Wireless LAN button won't switch off.

Most Netgear routers have a recessed button on the back or bottom panel, marked "Reset" or "Restore Factory Settings". Because the button is recessed, you will require a thin tool to press it. Most people use a straightened paperclip.
  1. Power up the router, and wait for it to complete booting up, typically about one minute.
  2. Press the Reset or Restore Factory Settings button until the test or power led starts blinking. This takes about 20 seconds. Release the button.
  3. Wait for the router to reboot.
  4. Log in with the default password. If the reset was not successful, try these additional steps AFTER the router has finished rebooting.
  5. Unplug the router's power.
  6. Press and hold the Reset button. While the button is held down, reconnect router's power.
  7. Continue to hold the reset button for 20 seconds after reconnecting the power.
  8. Wait for the router to reboot.
  9. Log in with the default password.

Sir i lost my wireless network name and wireless network password

Hello Leonard,

You can just reset your wireless router to restore factory settings. If you reset it, your network name will be back to DLINK and you won't need any password. To reset it, look for the reset button usually found at the back of routers. It is a small button inside a small hole, so you will need a pin to press and hold it for about 10 seconds.

Thanks for using Fixya!

Step2 : Reset your router by pressing the reset button or hole with atleast 5-10secs.
Step3: Open a browser (ei, IE Mozilla or Google Chrome etc.) and type the specified IP address on the address bar.

My Belkin F5D8236-4 v3 Router won't turn on. We had a storm last night and the power went out but the router won't turn on. I have tried to plug it into different outlets to see if that would work...

Try resetting the router. There should be a little hole somewhere on it with a button inside that you can press with a paperclip. Try holding that button down while you unplug then plug the router in while holding it (if possible). If that doesn't work, I'd suspect the storm might've damaged the router somehow. Was it plugged into a surge protector, and/or have you noticed any other issues with anything else that was turned on at the time?

BLINKING POWER LIGHT WON"T RESET

A Blinking Power light on a wrt-54g usually indicates that the firmware is corrupt. You can try to wipe the firmware by following the steps below:

unplug the router
using a paper clip or pin, press the reset button
plug the router back in while the reset button is still pressed down and hold it for 30 seconds.
once you let go of the reset button the router should go through a reset. if it still blinks try the process again.

if the issue still occurs then it may be bricked.

have you saved it on the webaccess page?
also did you hold in reset button for at least 30 seconds?

When I type the admin in the username box and admin in the password box, it won't log in

Hi there!
the default username and password for this router is "admin" so if that is not working then you or somebody else changed the username and/or the password. you can reset the settings of your router by looking for a reset button/hole in the router. press and hold it for a few seconds and that should reset the router.
Hope this helps.
