E2 F6 ??? What the? Oven came with house, no manual.

A month or so ago the oven began beeping in the middle of the night. When I checked it, nothing would appear on the display and the oven didn't work. About 2-3 days later, it "magically" came back on and worked for a while again. Last week it went out again, only this time it showed an error code of E2 F6 (i think) on the display before it crapped out. Now it wont do anything and the display is blank again. Do I need to call for repair service or is this something I can quick fix myself. Help! I want my oven back!

Your oven temperature sensor has failed(e-2) as well as your electronic control board(f-6). The oven temp sensor, electronic control board and the touchpad must be replaced . Approximate cost of parts is $500.00. Before you decide what to do, check the thermal fuse at the control panel first. If blown, replace it and the temp sensor. If you are lucky the control board may still be good.

We see this failure mode frequently. It is caused by multiple component failure in the electronic control board. Luckily, these can be repaired quickly and reliably. www.fixyourboard.com

Shortly after pressing the Bake button it starts beeping and F3 shows on screen. In the past, it would do this a couple times and then begin to heat and be fine. Othertimes, it would just stop cooking in...

F3 error code is telling you the oven temperature sensor has failed on the oven. You can access the oven sensor from inside the oven. The sensor is a stainless steel probe about 1/4 inch in diameter and several inches long. Disconnect the power to the oven and remove the screws that secure the probe to the rear oven wall and you can usually pull it into the oven.

My oven display is beeping and blinking 'PBR' on the display. What does that mean?

I had this same problem last night.. I have been having problems with the oven shutting off on preheat.. That sort of stopped. Last night lost power to the house. When it returned the oven was beeping and flashing PBR. I turned off the breaker for a few mins. last night and it returned. It was bugging me so much that turned it off the whole night. Woke up this morning turned the breaker back on and it stopped. I don't think this is the total solution. I am thinking that eventually I am going to have to replace power board in this oven. Hope it works!

Receiving F3 Code

HI, no need to replace the unit at this time. this is a Open or shorted oven temperature sensor (RTD).

Check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok.

Self-Clean gets too hot on JTP56 double-oven

Your husband is correct, kind of. You should not try self clean again until you get the oven repaired. You have a temp sensor going out. I doubt that the oven actually got too hot, most likely the resistor in the sensor is failing as it heats up and giving a false temp reading.Since the lower oven was operating at the time, it is probably the sensor in the lower oven. Don't use it for baking until you get it repaired. It will go out completely and shut down both ovens. You should be able to get a new sensor for around $30 and they are not hard to replace.

The oven won't set your house on fire during clean mode if the cabinets were built with the correct air space and dimensions, but they do get very hot, about 800 degrees F. Most ovens give no trouble during the clean cycle, but if there is any weak components in the electronics system it will show up then. It will give you less trouble over time if you don't use the self clean mode and just manually clean it.
