Gas furnaces need to be cleaned and maintained in very particular ways to ensure their longevity. Clean and ...
On a conventional furnace of today, your furnace may have a flame sensor which is typically located in front of an end burner opposite the ignitor. It is connected by 1 wire. This metal rod needs to be removed by 1/4'' screw in most cases and cleaned. Clean with steel wool or even a clean greenie scrubber will work. Wipe clean and re install. Many problems can cause these symptoms, but this is a very common one.
I don't know if cleaning your furnace would be the answer. But I sure know I would be calling my HVAC people to ask what could be wrong.
If your afraid of spending money needlessly, go onto UTube and see if you can find some clues there that you can try.
I'm not thinking that it's any danger to your furnace.Or even if there's any connection of the problem to your TV being on. But possibly, your wiring might be a bit messed up. Who installed it ? If any wires were crossed during installation, or if the wire to your TV or furnace was taken off the power of the other, that might be your problem. Almost like having too many plugs plugged into the same outlet.
I would check that out first before I would go for a cleaning.
If you feel your furnace needs a cleaning....just open it up and take a vacuum to it. That's mostly what they do anyway. Also...make sure your filter is really clean. If needed, install a new one to be secure.
Sometimes, even dust can throw something off. Hope you can figure out what's causing the problem soon.
1. Kill the power and shut off the gas, the furnace should have its own valve. All furnaces are different but all burners are meant to be taken out for cleaning. If it is a mobile home furnace it may only have 1 large burner but most furnaces have 3 to 5 burners. If you have a straight, and phillips screwdriver and a 1/4" and 5/16" nut drivers you may have all the tools needed to remove them. Take the doo off and get us more details.
I suspect the heat exchanger is caked with soot. The type of wood makes a very big difference in keeping them clean. The top cover is removable to access and clean it. No pallet or treated wood to keep it clean. Don't remove any screws you don't have to.
Does the furnace stays off?. Furnace are ment to cycle on and off because of limits .If you set to 70 furnace would cycle several times before reaching that temperature. Just make sure your filters are clean and you got proper return air flow because lack of air flow will cause furnace to shut off sooner than normal
Make sure your cleaning company didn't shut off the furnace at its disconnect located on or adjacent to and forgot to turn it back on. Other than that nothing they did should have effected the furnace unless they cleaned the furnace too and maybe left the blower door loose so the door switch can't connect.
