When I was removing the Wii from the box the way it was packaged it fall on the ground. Not far but hit the floor. The problem now is it makes a funny sound when I pt the disc in and won't read. I'm from canada, in Manitoba. The bigger problem is I can't retgurn it because I got it from my roommate for a really good deal, he gave me alot of stuff with it. Anyways any ideas on what to do or where to take it?
If Wii gives Disc Read Error, first step you need to check is to try
another disc or clean the exisitng disc. This will confirm that problem
is with either Wii or Disc. If the console itself is giving disc read
error then it needs to be repaired. You may check out DIY Wii Fix Guide,
that will show step by step information to fix the problem yourself. It
also gives information on fixing many Wii Related Problems, so its a
kind of Wii Problems Reference Fix Guide.

You will have to buy a new laser for it but if you take it apart it will void the warranty it maybe that something has come lose inside when you dropped it if you are ok taking it apart you migh find one of the runners damaged it shouldnt be to hard to replace the laser but you will have to shop around for one their easy enough to fit but if you dont want to risk damaging it any more then a computer shop will replace it for you but they will charge more if they have to get the part for you i suggest you check on ebay for one this is the only sollution but it might just be a bit of broken casing is rubbing on something check the disk is spinning if it is just check their is nothing broken or out of place their is not much else you can do sorry
