I have bought a nokia n70 open line while I was on vacation in the Phils. it is an open line. It worked fine with my tmobile sim card, then suddenly it began asking to reinsert my sim card. I tried trying other sim cards from other providers, same problem, I tried my old sim on another phone, no problem there. I've tried to hard reset it, same thing, even put everything back to its factory settings, same thing. would appreciate any kind of suggestions. thanks. i've tried to google it, and the only thing it suggested was resetting my phone, or update it.
anyway, probably the sim loss its contact to its sim terminal... try inserting together to your sim a folded paper same size of your sim( just to compress your sim to its rterminals)... be sure not to cover the sim terminals...

Sir / Madam,
please check your cell phone if open line so it can be able to recognized the sim card if it is open line try to remove the sim card and scratch it with pencil eraser
remove the sim, battery, and memory card then clean your sim with eraser then try it on. if problem continues try a new sim and if not work again no other solution but to consult a technician.
hi im josh in cebu phils. may i help you? As a mobile phone techinician, Friend i will say that the problem centers on your phone and not on the sim card. You phone is locked to the network of that SIM or commonly mentioned "not open line" thats why the software or the phone doesn't recognizes the SIM you are using because it is locked. To solve this problem you may go to your network provider and ask for assistance of opening the line of your phone so that you can use any sim cards you wanted. and your phone will now be unlock or "openline".Thats all friend hope i helped you good luck
hi im josh in cebu phils.it is very simple friend if your phone doesnt recognize the sim. clean your sim card reader with a brush slowly friend. then be sure the connections to the sim firmly contact because lost contact may gve such problem. good luck. hope i helped you.vote me so that i wl know if i helped you so.thnks.
u cant unlock ur fon by urself..coz it uses some software to unlock that..so go to the nearest cellfone technician and just tell them to unlock that and they will just know what to do with that.. :D
Go to Setting-Network-Operator Selection. Keep it Automatic
Go to Setting-Call-Send my caller ID. Keep it Set by network
& check your line in use. Keep it in Line 1
where did you bought your phone? if you bought it from a telecom's promo it means that your phone is locked to a single network provided only. you can ask a technician to have your phone OPENLINE for you to be able to use any kinds of sims.
if it's not the case, check the slot for sim and make sure that the sim is properly placed. restart it without the sim and then restart again but now with the sim.
