How to reset Olevia 232T without remote no remote

To adjust this TV you must have its remote control. If you wish to buy its original remote control, you have to contact the authorized service center. If you wish to buy a universal remote control, you should know about, which brand remote control have setup code to your TV/device brand. You should first make sure about the number of digits in the codes to your device have. There are 3-digit, 4-digit, 5-digit and even 2-digit codes. You can get this detail by the code list attached to every universal remote control. The brand name of the remote control you select isn't a matter; but, its code list should have setup codes to your TV/device brand, otherwise you can't set it up with your device. While watching tv I touch something on the remote to make the tv go into "on timer" The red light is blinking. I have removed power then on again the remote and tv controls work but after 4...

Check the remote carefully for a stuck button. You may have pressed a button and it went a bit crooked getting stuck.
Also, remove the batteries of the remote and try operating the TV manually. If the remote is the cause, the TV will work correctly once you remove the batteries.
Another way to check is by using a digital camera, like the one in a cell phone. Turn on the camera and point it at the remote. If you see a white light coming from the transmitter, the remote is sending a signal. Look for a stuck button.

Samsung le40r74bd problem

I just had this problem with my 3 year old 32" Samsung LCD. The volume would go up and down by itself, normally just constantly going up even when it reached 100%.

I thought it might have something to do with the volume buttons on the TV itself so seeing as it was out of warranty anyway I decided to unplug it and open it up.

I gave it a good clean and I disconnected the cable for the panel of buttons on the LCD itself (volume, menu, channel etc) seeing as I never use them anyway. I then put everything else back together and tested.

It seems to be working fine now. Previously (for the past 3 hours) ever time I turned it on the volume level would come on instantly and stay on until I turned the TV off. So I’m quietly confident the problem has been fixed. But I must admit it’s only been 10 minutes, so who knows, it might come back.

Amplifier goes from low volume to high volume without touching any controls. I turn it down only to have it mysteriously go up again 5 minutes later. Warranty ran out one week ago...

Let's eliminate ghosts and goblins. I can't identify your unit. Give me a make and model number.

As a test, locate the remote control window on the front of the unit, if it has one. Set it up to watch or listen to something then cover the remote window on the unit with a small piecr of cardboard. If you can't locate its infrared receiver for the remote just cover the entire front of the unit with something sufficiently opaque to block your remote. Try to operate it with th remote to be sure the unit can't see it.

If the expected problem never comes back you have a stray signal from something else in the environment getting interpreted as a 'volume up' command. Then look around for other remotes being used, wireless devices, use your imagination. I used to have a remote-controlled space heater and my TV would sometimes shut off if I used the remote. Does the unit have line-of-sight to a nearby house? Maybe something next door (garage opener?) is interfering.

If it still happens and there are no other infra-red devices nearby you have a ghost.

Volume is very low

Use the satellite receiver remote control to adjust the volume first. The receiver itself offers volume control and you probably have that turned down. Then you are trying to raise it with the volume control on the TV. This is raising the TV volume, but there isn't much sound there in the first place. Use the receiver remote, and you will probably see a volume bar. At some point it might say something like "best stereo" or a star might appear. If that happens leave the volume set there, otherwise just raise it all the way. Then control the volume with the TV remote, or program the DirecTV remote for your brand of TV, and the volume button should control the TV then.

Olevia 237 with satellite dish

I purchased a universal remote URC-R6 from Best Buy that someone else had said worked for them. With a little work, I have programmed it to take the place of both my remotes. Seems to be working fine!
