Hi, dear; it have to be something stuck in the paper path, do following way; make a copy after 2 second stop the machine, pull out the paper, see there have been rip on the corner, if yes check that area, if not do next copy after run for 4 second , stop the machine, pull out the paper check it again until you found out the rip happen, the paper chip should be there. good luck
It's depend of a distance between the repetitions of the defect, normally the cause is the cartridge or the fuser. If you have one, try to change the toner cartridge before.
The distance between the repetitions of the defect is the circumference of the roller that cause the problem, like the drum or the fuser roller.
Most likely it is the drum cleaning blade. One indicator of the drum cleaning blade going bad is that the black lines will get worse as you run multiple copies. So if you make 10 copies for example, the last copy out will be streaked worse than the first copy out. Drum cleanig blades are about $30 bucks plus whatever your local service guy charges for a svc call.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.
This can consist of ekectrostatic discharge wires OR more likely ios INCOMPLETE transfer of toner due to defect in the charge wires that cause the toner to transfer from the drum to the paper.
Inspect the wires for contamination and use a Qtip to CAREFULLY clean both the very fine wire and the metal channel it is in. Checking the voltage on this wire is beyond what the DIY person can do.
The duplication problem can be either the drum or the fuser. Most likely your drum needs to be replaced. If you can measure the distance between the first print and its duplicate I might be able to help more.
If you can't get a printer friendly page, Drag the mouse over just what you want to print. Go to File, Print. When the printer screen pops up, click on print selection.
