24" dell monitor swivels to vertical- can't get image vertical

cause, unknown. Usually the fact that they come and go, indicates a short. that means defect. Call the mfr and get it replaced if it is warranted.

If you go to the HP support website (hp.com/support) you can download the application for your monitor that automatically switches the resolution and orientation upon swiveling the monitor form horizontal to vertical or vice versa.

Try to Get the New updated driver from Nvida web

1. Try on another monitor to rule out VGA card.

2. Try another cable, if both VGA and DVI connections exist try switching between them ( cables )

Have you unplugged the power cord to the LCD? Let it sit for a minute, then try it. ALWAYS buy a UPS and plug any computer devices into it. Doesn't have to be big, a $50 unit will protect it from dangerous voltage surges.

I had the same problem on both of my LP2417 monitors. It turned out that there was a swivel software installed that was causing the problem. I found it in my taskbar and it didn't work when trying to swivel the monitor so I went into my control panel, add/remove programs, found the offending software and uninstalled it. After a reboot I was able to control my monitor swivel with my built-in Windows desktop preferences.

I'm sorry I don't recall the exact software name (its been a few months) but it shouldn't be too hard to find.

change all caps in vertical sec and replace vertical IC

you need to replace switching transistor 2SC5707 in the Power Inverter Board.
This parts is used to fix Some dell and hp lcd monitor.

Like I said last night cobra there is a vert shaper cap off the jungle/drive ic usually a smaller value and will check good but its bad. Or the b+ filter cap off the fly has caused sysmtoms like this as well. Good Luck
