Kenmore microwave 911 41479791 no power?

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
No Lights or Power, Unit seems Dead First check is the main fuse of the unit. On countertop units, you will need to take the shell off. The fuse will be close to where the cord comes through into the unit. OTR units, this main fuse is usually behind the control panel or possibly behind the vent. Usually the fuse is obvious if blown, otherwise test with an OHM meter, if open, replace fuse.
Some brands will also have a thermal cut-off fuse in the incoming voltage line to the control board. Older Maytags and Samsungs have this fuse in it. This thermostat looking fuse is usually above the oven cavity somewhere under the outside shell. Sometimes you can get to it through the vent of OTR models. Test with an OHM meter, replace if open.

No lights - no power - DEAD! Worked fine an hour earlier now ... nothing. Check fuse in mains box - all OK - tried it plugged into another outlet... nothing.

Your unit is dead, mains are good, tried in other receptacles, still no power. You have a bad fuse inside the unit. Unplug. Remove the cover. Generally this requires removing all the screws on the back perimeter and lifting the cover up. Sometimes they stick due to old grease, etc. Somewhere in the area of where the power cord comes in or near the transformer there should be a small fuse in a holder. It is not a glass fuse and should be replaced with the same kind (ceramic) and value. This is important for future protection. You can get the fuse at www.mcmelectronics.com . Get a box of five for future problems. If this was the only problem your microwave should work. If it blows the new fuse you could have a shorted power transformer, bad high voltage diode, or a bad magnatron in that order. There could also be a short in the board with the display but that would be unusual. Let me know if you need anymore helpl

Ge profile microwave wont heat replaced fuse but still not heatin

most times if you have tryed a new fuse and its still not working, its a dead microwave by dead i mean bump it, the cost of having a repair man look at it would likley cost more than getting a new one at todays prices a new microwave costs less that £50 ?????????
ask yourself this,,, how old is it? is it realy worth spending hard erned cash on an old lame duck???? treet yourself go buy a new one,,,
please be warned,,, dont think of having a go at fixing it yourself,,,inside that microwave is well over 1000 volts tuch it and it kills you,,,
have you ever seen a stun gun work??? it realy hurts you,,,
inside your microwave is the very big brother of the stun gun,,,
it wont stun you,,, it will kill you,,,
and for £50 is it realy worth it

Rudy0819: My GE Microwave Spacemaker model JVM1440WH01 just stopped heating. I used it earlier and it worked fine. When I went to use it again, it won't heat. Everthing else works, the light, fan, etc,...

The most likely thing is the magnetron has 'died' but there is a high voltage fuse between the capacitor and the magnetron which may blow. Either way, repairs to microwaves are dangerous and should only be undertaken by a qualified repairer. PS I have seen a mouse cause this problem!

Microwave Dead after burning up potato

Chances are the magnetron overheated and blew the thermostat / thermal cutout that monitors it. The magnetron itself may be bad, too. If Sears Service might consider this still under magnetron warranty, then they may replace the mag with no part costs (or just the thermal cutout part cost), but likely would charge labor. You can contact customer service or repair via http://www.sears.com Otherwise, if you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety and disassembly info at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your base model number (without the suffix) here: http://www3.sears.com or likely cheaper here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383
