Hello If infrared rays are not there with new remote control, it must be faulty. Take a look at the battery placement for its polarity. Replace the batteries with new ones. If this also does not help you, be sure that the remote control is faulty. If you ahve any warranty with it, ask the seller to repalce it with a working one. Normally, almost all remote control's internal circuits are irreparable. OK.
Hello, my name is Becki Barned, and I am with Dish Network customer service. The problem that you are having, is that the remote just needs to be reprogrammed. Follow these easy steps, and you will be good to go!!!! http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/remote-control
IF you haven't replaced the batteries it may just be the age of the remote although in good condition to the eyes, maybe you should consider getting a universal remote, it comes with a manual and a list of codes and instructions on how to program it on your TV.
