If the drive coupler is broken it won't wash or spin. Does it have a removable lower access panel on the front? if so its an amana. see if u can manually turn the transmission pully both directions. AND make sure there is nothing holding the tub ie nail through tub whole garment between tubs etc.

It could be either the pump or a clog in the discharge hose. Take a shop vac and attach it to the discharge hose to remove the water from the machine. Remove the pump housing and run a wire down the discharge hose to check for a clog. If there is no obstructions, reattach the pump housing and remove the pump motor. Run a spin cycle and see if the pump motor turns.

It's common for small socks or other small clothing items to get into the water drain system and clog the hose leading to the pump or the pump itself. took the plate of just under the door removed 2 screws then took the black rubber boot that hooks up to the pump and cleaned out the **** that was stuck in there, pluged washer back in after a little crunhin noise everything was back to normal
