I couldn't type on my keyboard. Not my keyboard that was a problem since it was usable on all other apps. Not upset with you but FIXYA has no way to re-establish a chat without me paying more money. This set should still be under a manufacturers warranty. This set has a board that is very hard to get. Do not let them tell you to wait, or you will wait and not get the set repaired. You need to call and have them repair or have them replace the set before the warranty runs out. If you do you will have a hunk of junk.. Good Luck
several possible answers include main and power boards---a common issue with no defined answer---I get this kind of answer myself from Tech reps for major brands; 'JUST CHANGE THE POWER AND MAIN BOARD AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS' so much for trouble shooting but that is the nature of these sets.
I unscrewed all the screws in the back, detached the tv from the base, and was able to get the back off. I ordered a new power supply board and will install it to see if it fixes the problem with the tv (won't turn on, insignia light alternates between red and blue). I didn't notice any problems with "swollen" capacitors, so if the new power board fixes the problem I'll update this website.
If you've done the flash light test, it could be the inverter board became defective but it could also be that the power supply does not provide the +24VDC to the back light inverter board.
If you could do the +24VDC test using a voltmeter then we can say for sure that the back light inverter board is defective.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
