Question about RTO 50cc Moped Scooter

Open throttle to full. clutch wont enegage for 3 to 4 seconds

Piaggio liberty 50 2t scooter.open throttle to full clutch wont enegage for 3 to 4 seconds wheel spins but no power, soon as weight is applied it stops spinning,.clutch examined looks fine, variator examined looks fine(cant tell for sure though). doesnt seem to be much movement from belt on variator when spinning. cant work it out?.

Try a new belt, it may look fine but can be polished and have no grip left.

the first thing to check is the brake pads or disc pads for worn out
next is to check fro front wheel bearings failing or dry
any scooter shop will be able to help

Replace Drive Belt & Maybe Clutch on a Piaggio Liberty 150cc

hi Wayne, the drive belt shouldnt be to hard to replace, just remember the order of disasambly and install it the same way. And for the clutch assembly it would be recommended that you use a service manual, but if you have atleast a bit of experience and common sense and patience you should be able to do it with a manual, that is if you have the correct tools, clutches usualy require a special tool to be able to separate it from the main shaft, also pay attention to the torque specs and order... wish you luck, Alex

I put 6g rollers in my 80cc vip scooter. now I can barely start it an while I am riding it wont stop revving even with the throttle turned back. it was very difficult to stop and dangerous as well. please help.
