You probably will not like my solution.

Either get a fryer with more BTUs or put less in it. You might be able to partially pre-cook the tater tots and or fry's then you only will only need a few minutes to fry them and your heat should hold. If the heat holds they should no longer be greasy (Oily) when finished.

the thermostat is in the housing where the top radiator hose goes onto the motor,remove the top radiator hose undo the bolts on the thermostat housing,be careful not to break them off as the may be corroded take the housing apart remove the thermostat clean both the surfaces of the housing using a suitable scraper or sand paper fit the new thermostat fit new gasket put the housing back together put in bolts DO NOT over tighten replace top hose fill radiator with water start engine & let warm up & check for leaks.....hope this helps......cheers

If it is in the same place as the outback, it's under the car near the front. You will have to raise the car to get at it, but make sure it is supported, follow the radiator hose to the housing which is bolted to the engine with 2 or 3 bolts. Undo the bolts, and the thermostat is right behind the housing. Drain the radiator first.

Check the compressor and the condenser fan to see if they are running;they will have to be checked from the roof. If one is running and not the other then check the capacitor for the one that's not. If both are off then check the contactor that controls them. You will also want to make sure they are getting power. If they have power and the capacitors are good, check the motor windings for the fan and compressor. Hope this helps. Let me know what you find.

by the looks of it this model has a main control board on the back.. problably bad

On a call for heat an internal switch should connect Rh and W, if it does not the stat is bad. Try it with no wires connected.

thermostats go bad ALL the time

You may have thermostat problems. If the blower and compresssor kicks on, that indicates their ok. If you have a two wire thermostat, you can tie those wires together to see if the unit will operate. BE SURE TO DISCONNECT POWER.
