You have a deal pixel, this is what horizontal lines do. Your camera needs servicing for them to map out the dead pixel. Let just hope it is only a few.
It should work automatically once connected properly, in case it doesn't work something is not right, obviously. Did you try it out with a different camera? That could help you in figuring out the problem.
What is the exact problem? Is the device not working properly? Did you try to charge it, exchange the battery, test it on a different device? Give us more info.
I would suggest that you always go and buy the tested flash devices which are proven to work with your specific device, but in case it's outside of your budget or you got it as a gift, then yes, it should work with your D5200...
