Paper tray is in the printer,but the printer says missing tray 1

Go to menu, in tray tray behaving tray1 select as unless paper load,in tray2 page size as any size.. while giving print command select printer properties, goto paper/quality select paper source automatic or tray2 & shoot print command & check...
# if you are not selected tray 1 as unless paper load, it will ask paper to load after command reached to it.
# if you are not selected tray2 as any paper size, defined paper size only it will allow to print..any paper size it will print with out questing you..

Switch off & on once the printer, load papers in both trays, go to system choose file ask to print, when dialog box appears go to properties, select tray2., the shoot print, check its printing or not. If its printing problem in tray1 paper sensor,clean it.Reason why its not taking from tray 2. In menu settings its selected default tray as tray1. if no paper present in tr1 printer ask to press OK choose another tray to print, during this period indicating error.Best to do: clean all paper path sensor tray1 and tray 2 to prevent further errors... Pl revert..best of luck..

check the tray one paper empty senor blow out with air is the paper acturator broken that the device that would lay on the paper when its out of paper the sensor will drop far enough to tell the printer tray one is out of paper miss feed are the rollers are dirty and or need to be replaced

Usually it is the white roller that is going bad in the tray. These are easy to replace - but fragile. They have a small clip that may break if you push it to hard. If you dont have a replacement - try cleaning them real well. If that doesnt work - you can take it off and remove the "tire" part and put it back on inside out. It fits funny but works if no parts are available.... All the rollers are the same for almost all printer like this.

you can choose mp first in "paper handing" printer menu or print tray1 is A4 default in properties of printer software.

How many input trays does this printer have?

Trays can be renumbered to allow for larger capacity input trays.

Please print out the menu setting pages and verify the correct paper tray numbers.

For tray linking to work, both Paper Size AND Paper type must be configured the same for both trays. You probably have the paper sizes the same but types could be different. The is no setting to make tray linking work.. it will do it automatically if the above settings are correct.

This sounds like a paper size issue. Check your papersize and oriontation in the tray(green selector font right or back left of tray) and check paper settings under the user tools menu for tray 1. let me know if that works, so we can trouble shoot.

DC Pick motor error: No Encoder feedback. Try to remove all paper from tray 1 and replace it.

It basically means there is a tray1 paper feed problem.

The problem is caused by one of the following (normally it's the cartridge that's faulty, very common on Lexmark's and IBM Infoprints)

The toner sensor is not operating properly, the developer
drive assembly is not operating properly or the print
cartridge is defective
