Playstation My ps2 makes strange grinding sounds when turned on. The disc will not read and continues saying reading disc... It also wont play dvds or cds.

It sounds like the disk isnt locating when it slides onto the laser tray if you are ok taking it apart check nothing is blocking the laser tray if their is nothing blocking it check that the laser has retuned back to the middle of the tray if it hasnt then gently push it back and then put it back together. if this dont work you might need to buy new laser witch you can get off ebay they are easy to fit the wires only go into a snap conector try this this should solve your problem
