SOURCE: Printer won't print color only black and white

Reinsert the color cartridge. Give print command for page. Open Preferences in print window. Open the Color tab. Click on Print in Color. (It may have been set for black only.) Try printing.

SOURCE: My printer has an almost full black cartridge but will not print.

Check the ink lines, the printer head might be clogged, If thats not fixing anything then check your printer settings on the computer and remove the color option. Changing it to black and white can somtimes just be from color, not just black.

SOURCE: HP deskjet 3420 won't print in black.

It's probably because the colour cartridge has run out, it needs a colour cartridge aswell to print black.

SOURCE: The color cartridge runs out very quickly

Printer manufacturers design their printers to print some color mixed in with the black when you are only printing black. That is why your color cartridge is running out when you only print black and why it prints "weird colors" when the color cartridge is empty. Printer manufacturers sell the printers at a loss and make up the profit on the cartridges.

Why dosesnt my printer print even though i have new cartridges?

Sounds unlikely but somteimes they sell defective new cartridges. Look for original packing, maybe still in your wastebasket, and verify expire date.

I only want to print in black, but one color cartridge is out of ink. How can I still print in black and white? without it?

Even though you are only printing in B/W, colour ink is still used, Why? I really don't know. Also most printers will not print if one or more cartridges needs replacing

One colour cartridge on epsom sx200 is empty yet it wont allow me to print in black only

umm... this is not a solution because I don't think there is one apart frombuying new inks. Epson and all other inkjet printers do this to preventthe coloured print head nozzles from getting blocked. If they are notused for a long time the ink dries up and blocks the nozzles. Epsonrecommends printingat least once a month with all colours to prevent this. Printing inblack only option will only work if the colored inks are OK. Wheneverthe printeris turned on it performs a head clean, this is why the coloured inksget used over time even though they are not used for printing.

Can you force a printer to print in grayscale?

Yes, you can bypass the color printing. The software you are using for printing can help you change from colour to gray scale or adjust it in the printer properties.

Possible to print only black when colour cartridges are empty?

This printer does not let you print if even one of the cartidges is out of ink. I suggest you replace them and then in the printer properties change your settings to the way you want color to be spent.

Not print and not scann without colour cartridge

most printer require all cartridge to be present and recognised before they will operate- even though you only wish to print -say- text in black. When printing in most machines all colours print even if it is only text you want. Except some machine can have a black only mode This will be found in the properties menu, if your machine has the facility
