Sony cyber shot dsc h200 lens is stuck, will not take pictures. says to turn off and turn on again, but does not work.

Whenever i turn on the camera, the screen shows that the lens isn't fully retracted and it prompts me to turn the camera off and on again. when i do so, it does not work. i have looked online and it tells me to power reset, but i cannot find a power reset button. i also read to intensely shake the camera so the lens can go back to where it belongs, but that hasn't worked either. help!!

Hi Susan,
If you cannot find the power button, just simply remove the battery wait for few seconds and put the battery back. What I assume of this behavior is 'If the coming out lens is obstructed by anything' the camera will show such error. If it does again, I would suggest calling Sony and getting their advice. Regards

When I turn on my Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W35 the screen is dark with the word "Access" on it, moments later it tells me to power it off adn on again, any ideas?

Its lens error in your DSC-W35 camera.
Lens mechanism is either stuck or not retract completely and system control sense this error. Please replace lens assembly to get it fixed because lens mechanism is not repairable.
Thanks.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC- W55 takes blurry pictures

Hi!
The focus doesn't move as it should - it was stuck before you tapped it. Could be sand or something in it. I'm afraid you will have to give it away for a repair. You can contact your local Sony service center, but if they ask too much, I can offer you a very good price. My e-mail is [email protected]
I work in a Sony service center.

Hope this helps!

Sony cyber-shot dsc-w30 digicam problem

The lens due to some problems is not intialising ...... most commonly it may be dust particles getting stuck in the lens barrel ...... or the barrel itself is damaged ...... get it repaired from a repairman ..... as opening a lens is a difficult procedure ...and you may end up messing up the whole thing ......

Sony dsc-w55 fell and the lens is stuck

Use bit more force to push or pull the lens as lens has been damaged. If applying bit more force lens goes to working, u saved $$$ otherwise, new lens option is always available at Sony repair shops.

Lens stuck open

I have to agree with one of the comments previously posted. I too had a Sony DCS-S700 and the lens was stuck open. Whenever I turned the camera on, the Sony Cybershot logo appeared and dissappeared, turning the camera off. I noticed the lens was crooked, so I moved it in the center direction and the camera worked again.
