Question about Insignia Video Cameras
Whenever I insert an SD card and try to record video, the screen displays "CARD LOCKED," and doesn't allow me to record video. I have tried multiple different cards and it never changes.
SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Aiptek is not so good at answering emails. If Nitrotrike's suggestion doesn't work, try posting this question at
Those guys are more likely to help you (or at least try) more quickly than Aiptek.

how did you transfer the video from the card to your PC?
did you connect the camcorder to your PC or did you use a memory card reader?
if you can play the audio then what you need is the right video codec for the unit
try searching for video codecs through search engines
make sure that the software that you are using to play the video plays the file format of your video,
try using roxio, then connect the camcorder to your computer via USB, make sure that the drivers are installed, play the video through your camcorder then use roxio to capture it real time instead of the usual "copy-paste"

There is an install disc that came with the unit. On this disc is the FFDshow application. This application is necessary to properly playback the video files from the NS-DCC5SR09.
Once FFDshow is installed you should have no problems with playback or editing of the video clips.
Hope this helps!

turn off the camcorder, remove the SD card. Look along the edge, perhaps the end, and you should see a little slide switch. Move it to the unlock position (away from lock arrow, or towards the unlock icon). Reinsert the card, turn camcorder back on, you should be able to use it now.
