Hardware error 03130031-2f13 on IPF650

I have just replaced the old printhead after getting another error. Now, when it is finishing the ink fill process(~ 90-95% of the progress bar) this error pops out. I have installed this new printhead along with new generic ink cartridges and the printer has drained (approx.) 100ml/cartridge now. In "service mode" it lets me print test pages but nothing from a pc will be printed. I can't update the firmware either (in service mode, can't try in normal mode) and I'm stuck in 1.07. The printer shows as "ready to update" in the pc application and lets you do it. When pc trasmission is done, printer will do nothing. In "normal mode" nothing can be done, the error appears before the printer shows any menu or completely initializes, always shows while is filling with ink, as if it tries to do the first fill of the new printhead every time you start it. Thanks for any help.

SOURCE: Ink cartridge (not) installed properly

Did you make sure that the colored tape was removed from the back of the ink cartridges? The manufacture puts the tape on there to protect the circuits during shipping. If the tape is still there it would not be able to communicate with the printer or computer.

Problem with printhead.

The printhead is the part of an inkjet printer out of which the ink is sprayed to form the finished printed matter. Minute quantities of ink, plus a high degree of precision...

On many printers each printhead is part of the ink cartridge and that is why some replacement cartridges are a great deal more expensive than the so-called cheap ink variety where the cartridge contains only the ink and the printhead is part of the printer.

An example of the former is many of the HP brand of printer - if the printhead causes trouble that a cleaning or priming cycle won't cure then replacing the cartridge should restore good printing.
An example of the latter sort is the Epson where printhead problems can mean repair costs can exceed the cost of a replacement printer...

Most printers give little trouble when they are used often but use them sporadically with longish periods of rest and a printer is likely to become temperamental...

Oh boy,
the last time this happened to me, I lost a rather good HP printer.
I was not able to save it due to the ink drying on important componets.

I have Canon ipf 650 , it doesnt show any eror, the problem is it is new plotter, printed very few, and stoped printing only empty sheets were coming out, we changed printhead and again the same, empty...

With this type of plotter there really is very few possibilities. Replace the ink cartridge with a manufacturer original cartridge. If that doesn't work, change your paper. If still no print, send it back to Canon on a warranty replacement.

I have a Canon W8200 and i get the error code"

Hello,
Try this:
1) As an error (E02802 or E02805 to E02809) is shown on the display, install the correct
combination of printhead and ink tanks according to the error.
2) Perform ink filling*3 following the installation sequence. After filling ink, when "Load Roll
Media" is shown on the display, turn off the power.
3) Turn on the printer while holding down the ONLINE button, ENTER button, CANCEL button,
and PAPER SOURCE button.
4) Check that "Canon W8200" is shown on the display, and then release the buttons. When
printer enters Reset mode for the dye/pigment model setting, all the LEDs on the operation
panel turn on.
5) "TYPE RESET" is shown on the display.
6) Select "YES", and then reset the dye/pigment model setting in the printer.
When reset is selected, the ink drain sequence is executed. It takes approximately 4
minutes for the process to be completed.
7) Check that "Turn Power Off!!" is shown on the display, and then turn off the power.
8) Unplug the power cord from the outlet.
9) Move the carriage, and then takeout the printhead.
10) Replace the following parts
• Ink tube unit : See "Part 5: 5.2.6 Ink tube unit".
• Purge unit : See "Part 5: 5.2.9 Purge unit".
• Ink tank unit : See "Part 5: 5.2.10 Ink tank unit".
11) Turn on the printer, and then continue with the installation operation (from installation of the
printhead). At this time, replace the printhead with a new one*4.

For service manual, You can write me on [email protected]

Hope that helps!

Error: The type of Printhead is incorrect, Install the correct printhead.

Ok i know this is kinda old, but i found a solution.

First to those people to state I found a solution from hp, cannon etc etc and not give out the direct link, or instructions, then whats the point fing posting????

This error happens when you install an oem cartridge onto your system. Or havent used it in a while, so the machine is somehow misfigured.

This solution is for canon mp800, simply switch off printer. HOLD stop/reset and press and HOLD on/off button. release stop/reset. Now press stop.reset twice. then release on/off button, press stop/reset 4 times, wait 20 seconds, press on/off button twice.

switch machine back on and the printer should find the cartridges.

This method maybe the same for your mp*** if not google RESET CANON PRINTER MP*** and you'll find the correct buttons to press.

here's a printer on reseting a bunch of canon printers http://tricks-collections.com/reset-printer-canon-mp140-mp160-mp180-mp210-mp220-mp460-mp470-mp500-mp510-mp530-mp600-mp610-mp800-mp820-mp810-mp830-mp960-mp970/

good luck.. and FU canon for adding you scamming chips into cartridges.

I keep getting a printhead error....I have replaced the printhead with the canon spec printhead and I keep getting the same error message.....any thoughts?thanks,Parker

Check the wiring assemble connecting the printhead to the printer and where the wiring connects to the printer. Anything loose here would prevent the unit from correctly reading the sensors on the printhead. Just a thought.
