The bad news is this isn't really a solution. You should seriously consider getting rid of the CRT and going with a flat screen LCD monitor. It is 2009 after all...

My monitor is flickering

Flickering on the screen can be caused by defective hardware in the computer or by improperly installed software monitor may flicker and goes into rolling state due to dust, overheating after a long continuous usage, loose circuitry or due to some electromagnetic interference with other like tv , UPS, large speaker systems etc.

FIX :

1.Try Re-installing your Video driver

2 If it is possible, connect a different monitor to the computer. If the flickering disappears, it is a fair indication that the monitor is defective, otherwise go to the next step.

3. Set up the computer and the monitor on a different place in your house. If the flickering disappears now, it is most likely an interference caused by something in the original location. Check for devices which can cause interference.

4. If the flickering persists, check the setup of your system. If available in the setup, make sure that the option Monitor Type is configured as Colour Non-Interlaced.

If you don't think any above possible reasons for the rolling or flickering state of your monitor then we recommend you to get your monitor checked by the monitor company at their respective service cente

There are 3-4 patches of colours on the sides of screen what is the problem in the monitor ?????

Sounds like a magnetism prob on your monitor. It happens occasionally and/or if a magnetic force has gotten close to the screen on CRT monitors. Speakers have magnets inside and many people place their speakers right next to their monitors. For your LG Studioworks 700S. I located a manual here:

http://safemanuals.com/user-guide-instructions-owner-manual/LG/700S-_E

Inside, on page A7 it indicates that the monitor has a "Degauss" feature. Activate it and your screen will jump around a bit before straightening out. This helps to restore the image.

Green color missing from my LG 700s model

as you are electronics engineer so let us discuss technically.

as you are unable to see green colour means you might be seeing picture of magenta colour

as technically

red+blue = magenta

crt has got three cathodes

your two cathodes circuit is fine one ckt that is green cathode circuit is not working.

for that problem your will have to check

  • cable from computer to monitor
  • loose contact in crt base.
  • crt connector loose
  • voltage on green video output.
  • green video output transistor might be defective.or print loose.
  • circuit related to green video ckt
  • green video signal coming to green video ckt.
  • & finally crt defective (in rare case.)
  • hope this will help
  • good luck.
