Try baking soda.
Take a box or two of it and sprinkle it all over the area where the milk was.
Leave it for up to week, and be careful to keep it dry.
Later on, you can vacuum up the "dust".
God bless your efforts.

My GE Adora gas oven is leaking gas from inside oven intermittently. What is the cause? And why wouldnt it leak all the time

My advice is get rid of it.

Or test every joint with washing up liquid and water in a spray bottle.

This is what a gas explosion can do to your house. Our windows rattled 2 km away!

I have a stove 61ehdo stainless Steele cooker which tonight has just stopped working I've had it approximately 7yrs . Oven rings etc won't turn on . I was in the middle of making dinner when this happened...

If you smelled a plastic burning smell you've burned some wiring somewhere. You would need to pull out the whole thing and start by looking at the back. I once had a dead mouse that had shorted across the relatively high voltage terminals common on most stoves. You should unplug the stove before doing anything like removing panels. Be very careful. Once you've found the problem you might need to call an electrician to fix it, depending on how brave you feel and where the problem is.

Our Viking oven (approx. 8 or 9 years old) seems to be taking longer to preheat and we have noticed a gas smell when the oven is on. Last night, it took at least a half an hour to reach 350.

What type of Gas do you have?-- Natural Gas?-- or Bottled Gas?
The reason I ask, is that If your gas supply is in a tank,-- the tank might be low..)

If you have Natural Gas, and you suspect that you smell gas, You can call your Natural Gas supplier, and have them check for leaks.

So-- If you know you do not have a low gas tank, then you need to call your utility first.

I have a baxter mini rack electric oven and water started leaking out of the right side of the oven while cooking bagels. any ideas on what is causing this

Sounds like you have a water leak! The right side panel needs to come off. Here you will see your copper water lines. Try steaming while watching to see where the water is coming from, most likely its coming from the two spray nozzles that enter the oven near the top in the front and rear. If the leak isn't obvious have an authorized technician service the oven. A leak in this part of the oven left unattended could cause more damage and potentially a fire.

Oven - Very bad gas smell

Very Dangerous! turn off supply to appliance, supply ventalation and call service tech. If you are very familiar with gas appliances and know what you are doing then you can try to locate the leak using soapy water or leak detector liquid. make sure all flames and other possible sources of ignition have been eliminated. Keep room well ventilated. Spray leack detector on all fittings and look for leaks replace or tighten parts as needed. This responce is asuming you have not blown up already, seriously dangerous situation you have there.

Gas smell when start oven

Hello, Kimquy25 -

Fixya.com is not a website for scheduling a Sears technician to inspect your gas stove.

Since you live in Houston, Texas, see the information here:
https://www.searshomeservices.com/locations/appliance-repair/tx-houston/4201-main-st

Personal opinion: If you can avoid it, do not use your gas stove / oven until a repair person checks it. Also, if you think there is a gas leak, IMMEDIATELY LEAVE YOUR HOME, go to a safe location and call the CenterPoint Energy natural gas Leak Emergency Hotline: 888-876-5786. - See more at: http://www.centerpointenergy.com/en-us/residential/customer-service/reporting?sa=LA#sthash.fGZo7JXh.dpuf

Best wishes.

Mid 90's Magic Chef gas stove

hi there,

since you can smell gas, you have a gas leak. i would recomend checking and cleaning the gas valves. if you can hear sparking, that means it's just the valves. sometimes cleaning the rods will fix the problem.
