Intermitant signal I have cable DSL going through my Motorola Surfboard SBG900 router. At times, the signal is intermitant and I cannot get onto the internet. If I unplug the power cord and coaxial cable and then reconnect, sometimes that does the trick - but not always. Any suggestions to fix this problem?

On your computer goto start - run - type services.msc and press enter.goto wireless zero configuration and enable it. now goto start - run type msconfig and press enter then goto startup and uncheck your netgear adapter.press apply and OK or close. restart your computer.goto start - control panel - network connection then right click wireless network connection and view available wireless networks.select your network and connect.once it`s connected goto start - run - .cmd - enter..type ipconfig..you`ll get ip address, subnet mask, default gateway.copy it. now right click wireless network connection again and click on properties and double click on internet protocol(TCP/IP).type in the IP address, subnet mask, default gateway.in DNS server address type the default gateway in primary DNS and in secondary 4.2.2.2. your connection won`t drop after this.

At this time, no. Only your cable/DSL provider would be able to do it. Unless your into some hardcore scripting.

Hope this helps!

Can I use motorola sbg900 wireless cable modem with at&t DSL internet service?

No, the AT&T service must be paired to the service by AT&T and therefore you will need to obtain a DSL modem directly from them. They don't usually charge for the DSL modem and offer the wireless service with their DSL service free of charge.

My internet speeds are up & down what can i do to help determine if its my modem or my providers signal.

1. This may be the ISP ( internet service provider) or you will need to check the drop or line to your house. Sometime moisture, rodents, or the elements have damaged the cable or DSL line to you premise that causes slow speeds and intermittent connectivity.
2. Contact you service provider and ask for a line check. This will require a cable/DSL tech to come to you house to check the line. There will be a charge if nothing is found.

Can I use my router just as a Wireless router with a DSL .

i doubt it will work. most times the cable companies give you a modem/router all in one box. the problem is there in no inbound connection to recieve an internet signal other than the cable cord connection. with the dsl modem you will need a seperate router. they cost around $40-50 on avg
