Question about JVC KD-SX650 CD Player

My JVC KD-SX650 WILL NOT POWER UP/JUST DOES NOT WORK?

I recently purchased a JVC KD-SX650 from a swap meet and for some reason it will not power up even connected correctly as required. When removing the face plate I noticed that the face pushes in on a black tab that pushes into the stereo on the right hand side if your looking at the front. Is this tab suppose to push against anything internally that gives it the ability to power up? Please help. and if not what are some of the most common reasons for not having power to the stereo when hooked up correctly?

Swapped red and yellow wires on my JVC KD-R200, then swapped them back. Now it only powers on when I push the Eject button. Otherwise, nothing

Swapping the red and yellow wires cannot possibly have any affect on the radio. Both wires need to see 12 volts for proper operation. If they are reversed, it would only simply fail to save the memory settings. You have other issues. You have probably lost power on the red wire.

I installed my JVC KD-SX650 and it works but when i turn my truck off it loses the radio station and clock settings, what could be the problem?

There should be a yellow "accessories" wire that controls the memory to the radio. If it is not properly hooked up, the radio will reset every time you turn off the ignition.

NOTE: It might be a different color than yellow, but this is the most common

I installed my JVC KD-SX650 and it works but it will not keep the radio station settings and the clock setting once I turn my truck off and back on again, what could be the problem?

you need to make sure the yellow wire is going to a constant power source.. the yellow wire controls the clock and preset setting memory.

Wont release the cd

Look for the reset button when you take the face off. Press it down with a pen or if cannot find it remove the fuse to the radio and then reinstall it

To stop the memory loss you need to swap the red and yellow wires around. (battery power and ignition power).

To stop the date loss, you need to cut the electrical ariel/remote blue wire.

My JVC KD-SX650

get a good service manual for your car that shows the wiring for the stereo plug. match up the wires to your JVC's wires (solder tie wire-to-wire behind the car's connector)
