Sony DHC-MDX10 Shelf System Logo

The system just shuts off after the word "eject" appears on the screen.

I was listening to a audio cassette on the B side, I switched to the A side to listen to something else. thats when the system just said "Eject" and shut off. the A cassette is jammed inside the player and the B cassette is ruined beyond use. If i switch it on and click on the CD or the MD it just switches back to A cassette and "Eject" appears on the screen, immediately shuts off afterwards.

SOURCE: The system shuts down about 5 seconds after switch

Found a second-hand CD unit and swapped it over with original. This cured the fault.

SOURCE: Help - CD won't eject! I press 'Open' on my sony

I have the same problem and it's due to dirt!
I'm going to try using compressed air, but -
this definitely works:

:) Seriously:

tilt the cd player to a 45 degree angle (flat, basically - as if they tray were horizontal.)

I had my player for 10 or 12 years, and this problem is only coming up now. My house gets very dusty.

Also - vertical load disc players are hard to clean. X_X (inside the disc tray)

I love this stereo too!
I don't want to have to go out and buy another stereo!

When i turn on my sa-ak340 the radio, cd or cassette work only a few minutes after that automatically turn off.

I've encountered that kind of problem.
f61 appear on the screen then shuts down the unit.
The very common defect is your fan, output ic (rsn series).
First check the fan if it is in good condition (disassembling the component is quite technical it need a lot of care).
sometimes the fan is full of dirt that's why it will not work properly which the system sense and uttered the unit to switch of avoid further damaged.

Tape player keeps automatically switching between

In my experience this is often down to a cog or other maniacal device in the player that has suffered some damage. As it is playing the fault causes a switch, which should not happen, and then leads to a chain reaction to the eject.

'99 Mercurary Tracer cassette player problems...

The cassette adapters are notorious for getting stuck in the deck. More often than not its the wire that comes out of it that causes it. The cleanest and safest way to remove the cassette adapter is to remove the radio, take off the top and "Help" it eject with your fingers or some narrow tool that may get behind it to push it forward and out. If you dont want to take the deck out of the dash, you can try pushing the eject button while manipulating the adapter wire, but I dont recommend it. Its just better to take the deck out. Good Luck

Bose CD for Surround Sound System

First suggestion by Bose was to unplug the power cord for about 30 minutes and then plug it back and hit the Eject button...didn't work. Second suggestion was to unplug the power, tilt the unit up onto its left side and then "whack" the bottom of the left side a couple of good whacks. Worked fine and cassette would then eject.

Tape wont eject, play, or rewind. It tries, but soon the message to push reset comes up. No help. Camera works ok otherwise.

put the camera to your ear , power it up and listen ! if it sounds . . . jerky ? your tape is stuck to the heads ( not easy to get out , cassette may be toast and - time is money ) ; if you hear whirring sounds ? before shuts down your cassette housing may be bent ( will need disassembly etc . but not usually expensive ) because - if it is a loading problem , it will usually eject ;

Cassette door stuck closed

Firstly: do not think about forcing the cassette door! Look inside the unit. You need to hand rotate the capstan flywheel a bit,( a large-ish metal disc attached to the motor via a rubber drive belt.)That should release the powered deck mechanism and allow ejection. Then buy a new drive belt , so that problem does not recurr. Good Luck
