How do I get to the fans in a Targus AWE81US to clean them?

If it is periodically making a fringing noise it means the bearings have reached the end of their service life.

Fan motors are suddenly VERY loud and grinding. How to fix this?

It sounds like they are very dusty. First try (if accessible) blowing them out with an air can. If not, take to a computer repair specialist and have them diagnose it.

Hi, everyone!!!1 my pro 320 get noising .....what happening///

Is it a clicking noise? Hissing noise? or maybe a grinding noise? A pc can cause many different noises. A clicking noise generally means the hard drive is failing. You'd want to back up your data immediately and get a new drive. Hissing can be a bad fan or CD/DVD drive that needs to be replaced. Grinding noises can also be caused by fan bearings going out. You would need to find out which fan it is, and replace that fan.

Grinding noise when fan spins fast

Try cleaning out the fans before going to the bother of replacing it. There maybe some debris stuck in it causing the strange noise. A can of compressed air often removes most of the dust and debris but on occassion it is necessary to open the case and manually clean the fan.

Generally if its grinding and clicking noises it will be the hard drive the fans will cause more a whirr than a grind

Targus Chill Mat Fan On Fritz

The fan rotor is stuck due to accumulation of dust. Take out the fan and clean it. Put a few drops of alcohol or lacquer thinner on the rotor/bushing assembly while manually turning its blades to loosen the hardened dirt until the fan freely spins like the good one. If it does not work, replace the defective fan if spare is available.
