I have a Lenovo H520s Core i5 with 4gb ram currently installed. When i try to install another 4gb ram card i get error beeps. both cards work seperately as 4gb but if i try to use both together then i get the error beeps. one card is as follows: ELIXIR 4GB-2RX8-PC3-12800U-9-10-BO-1600 and the other is: 4GB RAMAXEL PC3-10600S-DDR3-RMR1870MM58E9F-1333..Hope this helps and any info on where i might be able to find a fix or how to fix this problem would be much appreciated. Kind Regards Marvin

Resetting the bios should stop the beeps, 'JBAT1' terminal from pins 1-2 to 2-3 for a few seconds then back to pins 1-2. Get the pc running again on your onboard graphics or whatever it was, but enter the bios (f2 or DEL on start up)as you will have to reset time; also to dissable onboard graphics and enable your AGP slot as primary graphics controller as it may be dissabled in the advanced bios menu. Make sure you havent got an intruder device lead from your side panel as this could also be the beep which has to be cleared also in the bios

Remove the video card.
Boot the system and go into the BIOS
Set the onboard video to either auto or off, or in some cases you can change priority
Turn off the computer, reinstall the video card and give it a try.

While the system may be emitting a memory error beep code, that obviously is not the only issue here. If there is onboard video and it isn't working, try this:
1: Unplug system
2: Open case
3: Look for the CR2032 flat watch-style battery located on the motherboard, usually around where the front panel connections are
4: Remove this battery using a flathead screwdriver to push on the tiny 'hook' of metal holding it in. DO NOT PRY THE BATTERY OUT.
5: Let system sit for 10 seconds and put the battery back in.
6: Power the system back up
What this does is drain the system's memory completely. If it was perhaps set to use the AGP video card (which isn't installed, hence no video), this setting should be cleared and you should get onboard video.
Failing this, really, your only choice is a new motherboard, or to install an AGP card and see if it works. If you don't feel like hunting down a replacement board, I'd just order a cheap AGP card. If the AGP card works, use it. If not, then your motherboard is really pooched and you'll need a new one anyways.
About the memory beep issue:
You can google memtest86 and download that program. Burn it to a bootable CD and run the memory test; it should tell you if the memory is good or not.
hope that helps!

Hi there
I would say it's the graphics card that's failed. You might get the same beeps for faulty card as removed card....
Take it to a shop where they can test a compatible card, before they sell you one or install one for you.

Thanks kevin. I have 64bit windows and have tried a second 4gb card with no sucess. I think you are right about using to identical cards which i shall be purchasing and fitting tonight. will update with the outcome of this when done.
update: just installed 2 identical sticks of ram (8gb - 2 x 4gb) and still getting the error beeps. Now im completely stumped?! each stick works fine in slot 1 but when i add either card into slot 2 with the other in slot 1 i get the beeps... please help!!!!
